I'm doing some playing around with ranks right now to make sure I know how they work, so don't freak out when they change on you.

Hmm, seems that right now we can't cherry-pick available titles, or at least I can't. The only usergroups I see are Registered Users, Haiku Masters, and Hunter Trainers (the latter two being groups that I am not a member of, which is correct).

Mania, you want us to give you feedback on what we're experiencing with the changes?

Waugh! You can't change things like that on me! It confuses me! Especially when I've only been given twenty minutes to try and function! That said, they looked pretty awesome. What happens when the bar gets full?

*blinks* A bar? Interesting. It's like a reputation grind, or an exp bar...I could like this.

I really like the Bar. It looks really sleek and doesn't look out of place or too large. It's got my thumbs up.

Ps. I also really like Razzy's last Idea if you aren't set in stone w/ the bars. xD

Perhaps we could have even "rare topics" for people, first person to post on said topics (that moderators post) gets +300 EXP bonus

So I plugged in some bars to show you what I was thinking of with bars. I just made them by hacking up a Tame Beast bar from a screenshot, so they aren't very clean. And I plugged in the great drop-shadowed text labels for me, Stable Masters and Hunter Trainers. None of these are set in stone, though. I mostly wanted to get more feedback.

Hmm. I hadn't thought about that. Previously the 'ranks' were actually each a separate group, so you could switch between them. (I set things up that way because I had no clue what I was doing.) Now all the ranks are essentially in one group, so you get the rank you get (or you can choose the Haiku Masters or Hunter Trainers group if you have access to those), but you can no longer choose to drop back to a previous rank. Does that make sense?

Saturo lacks a bar because I made a group with a blank title, in part to see if I could. That might be a good option to open up to people who don't want a title, though.

Yes, I would like to see, as an available option, a group with no displayed rank. Similar to what Saturo had desired, actually, although for a different reason - given my avatar, it looks like the bar is showing the time remaining before my turtle drowns in that bucket of water or finishes casting an ability while sitting in the bucket of water (feel free to cringe now).

Aww... But opening the group up means that it will no longer be called Saturo! :(

Hehe, yeah. For what it is, that bar is actually very clean. I'm surprised you took it from a screenie, I could swear it's clean enough to look like you've been digging around in the game's UI-textures.

Cialbi: The situation with the turtle and the cast bar is made no better by the fact that it seems to have rather... amusing... expression. ^^

The expression was supposed to be "Help get me out of this stupid bobbing-apple bucket already!", but now..
(btw, I didn't set up this pose at all - Fonlithien just walked on top of the bucket and her rump fell in while I was busy selling junk to an innkeeper.)

I'm amazed that those came from screenshots. I'm with Saturo, looks like you grabbed them straight from the game files! :o

I think it's because they're so small. It's easy for your eye to imagine detail (or in this case smoothness) that isn't there. It's a lot harder to actually draw the detail, like you did with the rare silver dragon image.

Also, there is now an open group called Rankless that anyone can join. Join it, set it as your default user group, and your rank title and image will magically disappear.
