When it's confirmed that python model is truly going to be tamable THEN I'll jump for joy etc. I'm much encouraged though.

Has anyone been able to test if there's any changes to their oil stained wolf, fire boar, etc.? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to copy my main hunter over to check on mine, just my alt hunter. A lot of other people seem to be having this problem, though only with their mains. Most of them seem to either have very old characters or lots of achievements.

I was able to snag a quick picture of what the toucans(in spires of Arak) look like in game thanks to eagle eye. They are really tiny just like the seagulls. I personally cannot wait until they open a zone with these little birds in it :D ! Sorry for the badly taken screenshot was hard to get close to it lol.

Ewww you mean they have the crappy broken flight animation too?

Sad day. :(

Maybe we can yell loud enough to get them to fix it for ALL the birds with the fail animation... 'cause I'd still like a raven...

Edit: Made a post on the bug thread. Everyone with access, please yell!

I have tested, Fire Boar was fine as was others, all good.

This has always made me very sad too, their animation was so far from the norm or realism (yes yes, I know it's a fantasy video game). But it's like someone saw the "Mine, Mine, Mine!" Seagulls from finding Nemo and them added them in as an Easter egg that went wrong.

The skeleton for those bird models has always bothered me immensely, so much so that I can't tame any of the pets that use it. :(

It's alright for critters and minipets I suppose, but it just doesn't look polished or flexible enough to be used on actual beasts. It looks like it was made for small, low polygon models that wouldn't be under close scrutiny.

Tested as in we can tame them as they are or just that they go over fine?

Yeah, I can't believe they have put toucans on that terrible old animation rig. It looks so wooden. Actually, I kinda feel like the seagull (or raven) is constantly trying to fly against a strong headwind. I hope they fix toucans before launch (and put them in the jungle where they belong!), and then apply the same rig to seagulls and ravens and get rid of that old animation for good.

Tested as in pulled out from my transferred hunters stable and checked, they still retain their effects so far in WoD. I have not tried taming any of the "previously known to have visual buffs" pets in WoD yet to see if they now maintain any. However there are "Pack Boars" in FFR that do lose their packs upon taming, so my guess is that most pets will still be normalized of anything visually extra for the moment.

Animation choices are certainly not Blizz's strong suit at times. Most birds fly weird, worgs have a broken leg run, they still can't get horses right, animation speeds are super wonky for some pets and mounts (looking at you, yaks and camels!).

Wait till you see the little rylak run in WoD ;) Imagine someone on crutches being sped up by 1000x.

Unless my computer is playing a dirty trick on me, I think I have an alpha invite! I have no idea how long it's been there, something only possessed me to look tonight. I'll look through some of the questions and try to help answer them, just keep them coming! I saw one curious about appearance-buff pets like the oil-stained wolf, I have one and I'll give it a spin as soon as I'm in, and will see if I can tame one myself. TO DRAENOR!

While messing around trying to get a feel for things, I decided to take a trip to Tanaan first. I hadn't seen any screenshots of these wolves on this thread yet, so forgive me if I missed a post. While it's a longshot considering the models, we DID eventually get the armored wolves of Hellfire citadel, so maybe these (or something like them) can be hoped for? They were also running and attacking in the coyote animations, not the old worg skeletons.

Also have no idea how to upload pictures properly, so hopefully they worked and aren't utterly enormous.

I checked Ooondasta, and no dice yet, flagged as untameable.

Seagulls/ravens are as bad as otters swimming (except otters aren't tameable... but they should be a druid swimming form. And also tameable).

I'd have a raven if it weren't for the horrible animation.

Druids are seals/orcas, not otters. :P

Quick gif I made of the Void Wolf model effect in action. It's really pretty looking! I might keep one of these because I just love that shade of purple. :D

I'm in the same boat. I had a seagull for a short time but the flying animation did not work for me. I love Ravens and Crows and would tame one in a heartbeat. I had one for a few days before the animations got the best of me once again. I am personally surprised they chose that model for the new birds. I also wonder why they have not given tamed birds the ability to sit down and land yet. We know druids can do it so it should not be too much of a strech to make them land if you stand idle for a few minuets.

On another note....
Veph! You get that gif out of here right now or I swear I will tame that sucker even though I do not want and should not have any more wolves!
