Just being able to have a safe place to vent means a lot. I have a job, for which I am thankful. I need a place to go if I want to keep it though. I rely on co-workers for rides to work since my car died a while ago. Things have been bad a while, but it's come to a head now.

Great, images hosted on Imgur have now been prevented from displaying in the UK, so now every Imgur image anyone posts just comes up like this:
This is absolute BS. And pretty frustrating when many users here have their signature pics hosted there. Scrolling through pages with massive purple boxes is not fun. Thanks, UK government.

Well now I feel stupid. I recently got a VPN to get around the UK law annoyances and now see that the image I posted actually displays the linked image and not the obnoxious purple box. You lot outside the UK probably had no idea what I was on about.
*repeated head-desks*
This is what it looks like, complete with zero resizing regardless of the size of the original image:

I saw a couple of suggestions on Flight Rising for people looking to move their images. These are the recommended ones that don't need an account:
ImgBB - has an auto-delete option that can be turned on or off, so care is advised.
ImgBox - default upload options creates a new gallery and allows for commenting, so could be annoying when uploading multiple images.
PostImg - large free uploads (1280px+) are downscaled.

{{{{{hugs to all who need them}}}}}}
I guess this is more of an update than anything. It is what it is. My youngest brother passed suddenly the Tues. before Halloween. I've been told autopsy report can take 2-6 months. I can't seem to stop crying.
The house foreclosure auction is Dec. 3rd. Don't know what to do. Sucks I work full time and still can't get my head above water.

I'm sorry, Dew.

Sudden deaths are the worst.

Life update, we got a 3 day notice to evict today. I might disappear. If I do, it means I haven't landed on my feet. I do know the notice can take time. If I don't go, they have to go through the process to get a deputy involved. Either way, ....it sucks. Housing market here is practically non-existent.

Trigger Warning: Dementia, death.
My step-mum has Alzheimer's, having been diagnosed a few years ago with early-onset dementia. She degraded very quickly over the last year alone; a few months ago she became essentially bedridden as she was extremely unsteady on her feet, and gradually lost more and more awareness.
One very distressing result of the condition meant step-mum began struggling to swallow, making feeding and watering her extremely difficult. She started holding liquids in her mouth instead, which she inhaled.
As of Wednesday she started gurgling and choking, and was taken into hospital. She's been kept in to keep an eye on her, but her lungs were damaged and she's been put on oxygen.
That isn't the worst of it though. They tried to put a drip in, but it stopped working as they unfortunately do sometimes... and they couldn't find a vein to put a new one in. There was thought to surgically place one, but with her condition the decision was made to not.
...she's been declared as "do not resuscitate". She's coming home tomorrow hopefully, but... not being able to eat or drink, and with bad lungs, she's been given a week or two left to live.

oh, I'm sorry you're losing her so soon. I went through this with my mom a few years ago. are you able to get home hospice health care for her? many end-of-life programs also have counseling for loved ones. feel free to PM me
