Nope. If you look at the Mechanical family in the npc database, it lists every tamable Mech, Test Mechs, and Mechs that weren't added.

I really hope they do end up using that model for a tameable pet even if they haven't yet. It's so cute!

It depends on the size. If it stays small, then it'd look fine. But as shown several pages ago, the cub, fluxfire feline, and the cogblade raptor's textures are poor in quality. When they are made bigger, it really stands out.

I wouldn't mind a small pet. We already have itty bitty seagulls and such.

It only took half of Alpha and all of Beta, but the Slab of Bacon world quest was finally in Highmountain again and I could finally confirm the Well-Fed Ironhorn Bull is now tameable. So that's two sources for the white moose, though the other one, being present almost all the time, is much easier to get

But the old "Phase Wyrm" (the only Coral-Gray old Mana Wyrm model from Blade's Edge) has an interesting thing I wanted to note. Once you tame one and use "call pet", it will appear with a ball of lightning right before it. It also had an interesting idle animation that appeared rarely. When I was standing around, I noticed that sometimes it would do this weird blue-black kind of 'shimmer' around it for a second or two.

Having a look through the Beta database it seems like only one model number is used for mechanical cubs: 5023

Hey guys, sorry if this is off-topic at all, but I'm having trouble with getting the yellow punch-card to tame the sentient mechanostrider. I've gone through over 25 grimy objects now, and am wondering if it's just a rare reward and I'm unlucky or if I'm doing something wrong. Level 33 Gnome BM hunter btw. Thanks for any help!

I haven't checked recently but they'd shown no sign of it up till the last time I checked, which may be more than a month ago.

Their decisions in that regard seem entirely unpredictable. They stubbornly replaced old bears with a model that bore no resemblance to the original, but neglected to replace eagles with a model that was a faithful update.

Update: just checked V4W on live and the eagles there seem to be using the old model. The quickest way to tell is usually the beak. The newer model skins have shaded beaks, so they're a little darker and the texture varies a bit, and are slightly amber on the tip. The older model beaks are a really uniform yellow.

Well, there aren't any rare eagles, as far as I know, so they can't do the 'rare old model' thing they did with bears. Otherwise I think they might have.

In this case it wouldn't really be needed, as the model is so similar it's a faithful update. Like the core hound replacements.

It's not unheard of for a swap like that to be made after the model's already done and has existed for a while, so we may see that update in the future. I haven't looked at the new model closely enough to know if I'd be happy with it or not, but I trust y'all's opinion on that score. Personally, my crows both got released but that was a much wilder model change (and my seagull is seeing a lot more active stable time as a result, which is a weird turn-around for that but whatever), but I really like the new core hound—it's actually a faithful update and not a reimagining, so if the eagle is the same way that'd be pretty fantastic.

I will say, it is a little weird going through Molten Core these days when so many of the mobs in there have updated models from classic (the giants, core hounds, and imps are all using models that they weren't using in vanilla, not sure if anything else is) but it's a nice sort of weird!

Has anyone found ANY tameable Leyrunners? I swear I saw a hunter with one.
