I am a bit behind on WoW news, but I noticed some armored scorpions that have the mount saddles in SoO that are lvl 92 elites. Does anyone know if they will be tameable?

I don't know if this is intended or not (doubt it, and It just seems to be Rylaks :\)
But pretty epic seeing a flying pet actually fly up and attack an enemy in the air, or lift off and chase after another Rylak as its flying by.
Would be awesome if Blizz made it to where flying pets could follow you on your flying mount as well, like some companion pets can while others can't.

I hope that's intentional, because it's pretty awesome.

Wait, is that because of blink strikes or do the Rylak pets actually fly and attack other flying targets?

Nope, no blink strikes. It actually takes off and flies after enemies that are in the air (like the other rylak in my screenshots), and attacks them mid air. After they'll fly back down to your side, no teleporting. Looks pretty neat and would love to get a gif sometime. But I don't know if this is just an unintended, beta thing or intended. Wish it was the latter, but I'm doubtful.

Er wow. I hadn't seen that! It doesn't seem all that likely it's intentional, but it would be cool if it is

I feel like it should be, because that would make Rylaks very unique and somewhat special in terms of the flying pets. Because there are fights where the boss flies up, and Beast Mastery loses a large portion of their DPS because the pet cannot reach a flying target, but Rylaks can.

Seagulls used to do this, as well as other pets that used to be flying. I suspect that it's the same thing. And I expect that it'll be fixed before things are through. At least that would be my guess!

Yes it would make them very unique, but I would love if all flying pets could do the same, as well as fly next to us as we use our flying mounts. Moths, rylaks/old chimeras, birds, wasps..

Like I said, I'm doubtful this will stay too. But maybe?
The only issue I see is the fact it could fly up and attack players on pvp realms, while they're afk on their flying mounts and such. The rylaks can fly higher and further than our own weapon attacks can reach, after all. However, as a hunter you can fly up, attack and kill other players if you really want to.. just disengage before you hit the ground and repeat lol.
I got a video of it, as I have no clue how to make gifs lol. Ignore my shitty beta UI >.> tried to keep it out of the video as much as I can. But the video shows what I wanted it to show and that's all that matters right?

(Quick note, split off the discussion about Draenor vs Outland designs to its own thread since it was off-topic which was my fault!)

I think it should stay, and that it's awesome. Maybe add a max range for it. I still think there should be an optional toggle (like fox trick ability), but I do think this should stay, and be extended to other flying creatures. Like I said: add some max range to it (slightly more, or around the same range as the furthest hunter attack?) and then it would be fine remaining. It actually adds to the feel of flying creatures. Right now, they just hover. Let them do something with their wings!

It really is awesome, and a lot of fun. Even fighting regular enemies, if they're knocked back or similar (anything that gets them up off the ground for more than a millisecond), the rylaks will often take off, fly after them and do a few aerial attacks, before landing and attacking normally again. It's surprising how much some actual flight can add to fights when using flying pets, and its hard to describe without experiencing it yourself but... its a really nice little detail I wish would stay. Very badly.
Edit:
Also, was eagle-eye exploring Talador again, and I came across some Ridge prowlers; cats with the Pandaria tiger model. But they're labled as PHs. Maybe we'll be seeing a new cat model? Maybe a lynx?

Tried to watch the video, can't do it since it's private.
I remember back in Cata some flying pets could actually fly, but was patched not long after. It was useful on fights where the boss flew up, but it made those fights ridiculously easier than intended if it was old content. I don't think it would be too bad if it was current content though, at least for BM since pet pathing on some fights are horrendous. SV and MM have a chance to pass that up with Lone Wolf, but BM is stuck with watching their pets stuck on the ground doing nothing, unless you take Blink Strikes and your pet is within 30 yards, but still it has a ~20 secs internal cooldown so that's still a lot of lost DPS.

Ya I remember this too. I loved that my pet could fly....I was so upset when they patched it. It gave people reasons to have flying pets

One of these bosses that fly up would be Onyxia, correct? I had her stuck in phase 2 for several minutes while my pet just ran about following her. The concept of Rylaks actually flying to get their enemy is awesome! I love it! I could imagine, if the enemy was above the ground by enough, then the Rylak would do some flips before it reached its target. Also, when they dodge an enemy attack in the air, they could flip out the way

all the more reason to get myself a Rylak

The flying pet thing has shown up in prior betas, and has always been fixed. The real problem with it is that it might allow us to skip some content. (Kill quest mob on opposite ledge and loot it without having to follow the path).
Is anyone getting Eagle Eye to work for more than one hop, I can only get it to go once, or did I forget something?

Macros are still disabled at this stage I think, so there's no way to to use the Eagle Eye one.

I'm using a basic shot rotation macro..
What was the eagle eye macro?

Oh good they're enabled now? I haven't been on beta in a few days, I know at first you couldn't do anything with scripts or macros.
If I recall correctly you just had to add an exclamation point, so /cast !eagle eye and that did the trick for being able to cast it multiple times.

Sorry about the video, thought I had it unlisted, not private. But just made it public, whatever xD

And yes the eagle eye macro works

I have been able to see some cool beasts, PHs, towns/cities, rares, etc. using it... Have a few pictures of other zones in the beta screenshot thread. Sadly can't reach Nagrand yet. Gorgrond I could only reach while in the phased Tanaan jungle quest line... which meant I couldn't see any npcs there, but still got a look at the land itself.
