As someone who likes Spiders, I am super happy about this! (though one spider and one spider alone is loyal to my heart)

I won't be taming any other spider, but I'm certainly happy with this! Go spiders! Master Pets of Azeroth (tm)! ;)

It's nice that they have challenging methods of taming, but...

new models instead? I'm sorry, but these are pretty lame so far, save for the owl. Two gondria recolors, two fireland spiders with nothing of interest, one purple spider who has absurd hp (lol kiting is a challenge). Sure, the CHALLENGES are interesting, but the beasts aren't so interesting. Sure hope some of these are placeholders and not finished models, cause it's pretty depressing so far.

all i have to say is if you don't want them don't tame them. It'll make it that much easier for me

I got behind and missed the GREEN spider! :o I was not expecting that! Eee! :D

*mumbles something about possibly being okay with swapping out the bone spider she hasn't bonded with, after all that...*

The other five rares are.....SPIDERS. Wow....just.....wow. Ok, saves me from sleepless camping. Good luck to those who want them!

I agree that the new challenging methods will be an interesting twist in things however, I don't think these new methods will keep the non hunters from killing these pets really-its not that hard to search a creature name and see why it is one-shotting you, remove armor and kill it. Heck I can see people killing them just for the challenge of it all.

So the final total is two new spirit beast kitties and one sb owl, then five of the lava spiders? I'm glade they released the pruple lava spider, I rather liked the look of it first time I saw it.

Well, it is much more then I thought I would see in this patch, so tis all good.

Sadly though, I want the cats, but I know they are going to be in a very highly used area. Here is hoping I get lucky in spotting them. Karoma and Sambas were bad enough.

I will admit, when I saw the final list of all 8 pets I was a bit upset. I wanted some unique looking pets, not 3 spirit beasts and 5 spider reskins. But looking over them now, I'm kinda glad they aren't all that great, because now I won't have to make room in my stables for them. I'm probably going to end up getting the spirit beasts just so I can keep saying I have every spirit beast, as well as one of the spiders (the blue one does look cool), but that's it, and I'm fine with that.

Might happen once or twice, but I honestly don't see people bothering to kill these guys too often (Look at Solix for example rofl. Damn that's one fast spider). I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far, looking forward to taming at least one of the non Spirit Beasts.

Aww, so sad :( Why couldnt they just make them Cats, instead of spirit beasts.. You can't raid as BM (Atramedes, valiona and other fights with air phases) where you have to go MM, and BM/SV is sharing the bottom...
But oh well, thanks at least for some taming challenges :)

I kinda wished they would've been labeled as cats as well but, oh well. Would've loved to have the blue spectral kitty by my side in raids. He's a beauty. :< Also, Atramedes and the third phase on Al'Akir (pets fall into the lightning cloud) are the only fights where BM suffers a wee shade.

I'm so disappointed. Before Cataclysm they might as well have said that there will be 4 new tameable beasts in Uldum and then all of them would have been Maddexx with a different color.

You can't? I rip 18-22k dps as BM in t11....so that's another sad elitist assumption. And bound to get worse come 4.2 with your Careful Aim nerf.

So, 3 spirit beasts and 5 spiders?
While im kinda dissapointed at the lack of variety of pet families (Would have liked a wolf or flaming dragonhawk), Im trying to see the bright side of this...

Im only going to need 4 stable spots ;D

As grateful as I am that Blizzard has been listening and spoiling us, I feel like the overwhelming majority of hunters are disappointed at the 8 taming challenge pets that we got. I think Blizzard is listening, and if the vast majority of us are as disappointed as I'm picking up on, we might get lucky and convince them to change their minds before patch day. Worth a shot, right? These would have been my suggestions to Blizzard, based on the feedback I've been hearing from all of you. A handful of Spirit Beasts, but a VARIETY of very pretty NON-exotics for non-BM hunters. As opposed to a couple of unused skins and too many spiders.

#1) Ban'thalos

#2) Either Ahnka OR Magria. They are too similar to release at the same time, and considering most of the feedback on here is about lack of variety, that would help a lot.

#3) Black Skoll.

#4) One of the flaming skeletal dogs, except as a beast. Blizzard knows how bad we all want one. Despite it's undead-liness, I still think it should be in the Dog family so that non-BM hunters can have shinies too. I know that it looks more elemental or undead than a beast, but if there's any patch to make it an exception, it's the Firelands one. A random firey animal makes more sense here.

#5) A Phoenix, as a Spirit Beast. I know there's a rare one flying around the zone somewhere. (The name escapes me.) This would have to be a Spirit Beast because it couldn't fit into any other category, and it's way too mythical. Again, this fits with the Firelands patch perfectly.

#6) Fandral Staghelm's flaming cat form. The problem with this, though, is that it would probably need the armor removed to be "believable" as a beast. I think that with no armor, this could be in the Cat family, for the same reason as the skeletal dog above. Of course, then we run the risk of every hunter running around with a Cat named "RedXIII". :D

#7) I would love to see Malorne's beautiful stag-form represented as tamable in here somewhere. (Or an off-color knockoff.) I would normally say make it a stag instead of a Spirit Beast, but until we get stags as a regular family, Spirit Beast it would have to be. Stags as a regular family. Stags. STAGS. Wink wink. -ahem-

#8) Deth'tilac. Ol' Dethy can stay as a Spider, but in all fairness, I would love to see a spider model of a Spirit Beast. Seems like a perfect choice if you give it some cool particle effects, but again, I wouldn't want everyone overloaded with Spirit Beasts. But, PURPLE FIRE. Think about how awesome that would be. Also, make the "non-rare" red/orange/yellow/green versions of the rest of the lava spiders tamable.

Comments? Concerns? Suggestions? Lore-problems? Spiteful feedback? Trolling? I'm just throwing ideas out in case Noah's listening. Anybody else want to toss out their own personal dream team? It can't hurt.

My opinions about your opinions.

1 and 2, yes, hyjal is a sacred place of the night elves, so it would be normal to find owls and saber cats, since they have been long associated with the Sentinels

3-. It would be great, ONLY if it was a normal wolf, could appear as a son of Gol'din or simillar

4-. Could be like with Madexx, make a flaming skeletal rare dog, with different skins that are not color changers, they save the time having to create different taming strategies for each one and hunters get to choose the skin, win-win situation imo.

5-. Heck yes, the one you are refering to is Blazewing. However, phoenixes have been more associated with Blood mages than hunters or shamans, despite being elementals

6 and 7-. No, just plain no. Leave those forms alone.

8-. Obviously the big bad spider needs to be a big bad spider. She stays.

Outside the Ban'thalos and Deth'tilac, none of these new rares are a must have for me. I'm a bit sad that 2 of the 8 are reused skins, though. Such a shame. I can appreciate the mechanics, but none much else. Maybe I have to see them up close and personal, but we'll see.

Though I am disappointing of no really 'new' models, I am excited for the challenges ahead. I like that fact that most of these are either really really hard to kill or unkillable and as a lover of all things blue I do need to get that blue Gondria and the purple/blueish spider for my main hunter. Though it looks like I'm gonna have to work on finish leveling my baby hunter so she can tame some spirit beasts since I have no more room in my stable slots.

WTB More stable slots Blizz! Make it happen please! <3
