I've been poking around in Queensdale and Divinity's Reach for the past couple nights. The human starting zone certainly is a beautiful place!

For some reason, I really like the swamp.

The interior of a creepy shack in the middle of the above swamp. It was actually kinda cool. :)

Sorry for the double-post. I made a sylvari necromancer named Ioleandre (ee-oh-lay-ahn-druh). I had to re-make her a few times, of course, but I did finally settle on a name and appearance. :P It seems to me that the sylvari are the most varied and unique when it comes to appearances. They have scads of skin colors and pattern colors and glow colors and all that. :)

I was going for a kind of dark forest, fall color kind of theme, if that makes any sense. Like I wanted her to be dark, befitting her necromancer profession, but at the same time still look beautiful and colorful. Just...more subdued and earthy, I guess. /shrug In any case, I love how she turned out. :)

I could look at a sylvari's glow all day.....

My necromancer on the left, and my brother's mesmer on the right. I like how they look so different!

The terrain foot detection works with pets too. On a very high ledge I got Hahadori to look like she is sitting.

More pic spam! Sorry about posting so many of this darn disguise. I just absolutely love this armor on my sylvari. I'm hoping it's one I can actually acquire later. The disguise did change my skin color and facial features, though.

Anyway, there are also a couple pics of my new ranger, Ethaniel. Well, Ethaniel Rowe. I had to make up a last name since Ethaniel, Ethan, and Ethanael were taken. :( I don't know why, but I just wasn't feeling it with the norn lady. It's like the voice was all...burly...yet the hair styles all look rather pretty. Just didn't feel right to me. This human guy just fits better so far (and he's kinda cute if I do say so myself :P). My first pet is this bear here. At first I named him Apollo since I couldn't think of anything, but then suddenly the name "Buddy" hit me today. I have this brown stuffed bear that my grandmother bought me when I was like....six, and I named him Buddy Bear. I still have him all these years later. So, I dunno. This pet bear is brown and he's been my ranger's friend for as long as he can remember, so the name Buddy just seemed right. Plus, it's a name that a young kid would probably give a bear, so even though it's juvenile now that Ethaniel's older, it made sense back then.

I'm blathering. Pics!

Take a look at the cultural armor vendors in The Grove. I think that is one of the armor sets you can buy.

And more pictures.

Charr sleep is adorable.

I need to take more updated pictures of Rustina. She's got new armor now and using different dye colors.

Awww, sleepy charr! :3 I haven't tried sleeping on mine yet.

Edit: Removed a bunch of crap that no longer applies. Still haven't gotten a name I really like for my ranger. I hate how picky I am.

One of my favorite charr emotes is their /surprised:

I like their /threaten too, but you really have to hear it for yourself to get a real appreciation for it.

More screenies! These are a bit more random than usual.

First is my bear, Buddy. I love this picture of him! :D
Image

This kitty was rolling around on a bed on the very top floor of a windmill. It was so cute (and also random)!
Image

I've always wanted to see a charr up close, but this is pushing it.
Image

(Teehee!) Seriously though, I had created two characters and was trying to compare the body types. Best way to do it for me is in a cutscene. The one I originally had I ended up not liking because it looked scrawny and had fuzzy forearms. Normally I like hair, but not in just one spot on each arm. But yeah, I'm lame and I admit I think my character's kinda hot. So sue me.

I've really gotten into my ranger quite a bit. I only have three pets so far: Buddy, a dog named Constantine and an unnamed shark. I have a cute RP story for Constantine, hopefully you guys don't mind if I explain it? I'll try to keep it short.

Sevryn was helping out around Beetletun Shire when he came upon the market. There was a nice open-air kitchen in it. He noticed a dog sitting right in front of the bread table. Sevryn was impressed with the dog's discipline. It was obviously hungry and could have easily just been a bad dog and torn into the place. Anyway, Sevryn looked around for someone that might be its master, but didn't really see anyone nearby. The chef said his owner was a seraph soldier that had recently been killed in action. The dog had seemed depressed ever since and wouldn't let anyone close (emotionally, that is). Sevryn felt bad for him, so he bought some meat and gave it to him. The dog ate it and looked up at Sevryn happily. Sevryn knelt and looked the dog in the eyes as he petted his head. Sevryn felt connected to the dog, and the dog felt the same. They understood each other like no normal person and pet could. Sevryn stood and said, "Let's go, Constantine!" Constantine wagged his tail and chuffed, pleased with his new name and eager to sniff the world alongside his new packmate.

Sevryn keeps the collar that Constantine's former master put on him. Just as Sevryn can't forget his lost family, he doesn't want to take away Constantine's memory of his former master.

Most of these pictures are in the dark, so they're not all that great. Sorry!
