That's pretty much what our guess was. There's a small window of time after you tame a pet before it resets to full health. When you're not in a duel, your pet becomes a friendly target almost immediately after taming it (before its health is reset). However, when you're in a duel, the pet stays unfriendly to your friend the entire time. It makes taming these pets way way way easier.

I can't recalled if the oil-stained worgs retain their buff through death. Been quite some time since I pulled mine out. Anyone recall?

Can't wait to try this either tomorrow or the next day since I forgot my authenticator at home while visiting family for Christmas.

^ I was hoping the same thing when I stumbled upon him a few weeks back!

We've been at this for hours and hours now. We've tried dueling, not dueling, various other classes landing the killing blow, trapping or not trapping, auto hotkey spam revive and mousewheel, absolutely everything we can think of and everything mentioned here. We're watching the cast bar to the one thousandth of a second. We practiced on non permanent appearance buff mobs. We are extremely frustrated and can't figure out what we're missing here, we've both done this before countless times for other trick tames in the past.
Does someone, anyone, have a stream or video of their success? Or at least attempt?

I only have failed attempts thus far. Been working on my own to try and solo tame, with no luck thus far; can't get the timing to hit. I've alternated between serpent sting, murder of crows, explosive trap, and now a snake trap for my single controlled dot.

This is my least favorite taming method ever. :/ And that was a massive, massive understatement.

I'm currently looking for some more pets with unique appearance buffs this method could be used on.
If I didn't already tame a super awesome sha-cat, I would try for Kung Din.

There is the Lone Hunter, but I think I already have him xD

Why yes, they do! Both my oily friend and I have died probably 10 times today, in fact.

Hey guys. ^^ Gratz on all the pretty tames, and GL to those still going. Happy holidays too.

I have been following this thread dilligently, and am currently trying to time the tame with the sha-croc, I'm getting close - but still no success, even on 5 hrs of trying. xD Has anyone tried him yet and succeeded, or no? It is quite a task with her health. .-. Just figured I'd ask.

Kung is kicking my tush and my friends tush. :/

Kung din is definitely possible as both Peach and I have gotten him with his collar and everything!

I should mention that the higher your latency is, the harder it is to tame properly -- having your graphics on low helps with it.
