I think if the wolf was rarer, maybe not as rare as Loque and similar, but still on a decent spawn timer... they'd be much cooler to see around.
Have to vehemently disagree-I'd like to have something shiney pet wise that didn't require me to stand on my head bark like a dog, dodge, jump and jive all over the danged place without loosing aggro for once. All the pets that have been released in the last expansion that I really wanted had a lot of tricks to get. I for one would like to have some neat, nonstandard, colorations that don't require a bunch of hoopla to get. I don't care if they become a dime a dozen with every hunter having one, I'd just like to not have to jump through so many tricks to be able to tame one. I love the options that hunters can have with pets, and the variety is amazing-but when the one that I like is a rare spawn, I get so ocd about taming it I spend hours upon hours fighting with other hunters trying to find one to tame.
It is such a pretty model/coloration combo, I would want at least one version of it to be just a plain normal tame instead of a bunch of tricks or camping required.
On another note-that new bird model posted is amazing, I do hope it becomes tamebale, though when I saw it my first thought was, is that a new druid model?

*screams and flails arms* I don't even remember what buffs and abilities birds of prey would bring to the table but if these little fuzzy dinos go into any pet family I will tame all of them.

@Shade; totally understandable. But being a huge mount collector as well I'm one of those odd people who actually loves camping and farming things and having some harder-to-get pets/mounts. It's not about "special snowflake" or anything like that, just that it's fun for me. I like the challenge. This coming from a person who camped Aeonaxx, Time-lost, Loque... >< I'm never really in a hurry to get the pet, I just will randomly check up on spawns and camp for a few hours when I feel like it; it gives me something to do.
Plus it's an awesome feeling when you finally acquire said pet/mount (but don't get me wrong, it's mainly looks that draw me to a pet, but rarity is just a fun plus to me.)
That said. ..
@Lupis.
I think I'm going to die @.@
I wonder if that means the other thunder isle birds will become tamable too? Even if they use the model of the phoenixes, they would fit very well into the bird of prey family. Ugh I want Talador open so badly now.

Looks like the latest build fixed the WoD Ravager model to be the same as the mount, so the wings aren't coming out of its shell.

When 50 new stable slots were added, I was incredibly surprised. I retamed a few pets that I had to let go, happy that the gang was all back together.
Then I chuckled, knowing that I'd never be able to fill the whole new stable, even if I tried.
...
I was wrong.
Tame ALL the Thunder Phoenixes!!
Definitely not a hint, Blizzard.

oh good.

I thought the wing problem was intentional and didn't like it that much. glad to see they fixed it.

(I am also glad for the wing fix on the ravagers)

I don't mean to sound negative, but we've been getting a lot of tweets lately regarding pets. (Stags, Thunder bird chicks) but still nothing confirmed. As excited as we can be, nothing is set in stone yet.

This is true, but to be fair, it does certainly warrant discussion and excitement simply due to the fact that some of the beasts being tweeted about, have never been mentioned before as a potential pets. Also with them directly asking for feedback in some situations, that's super exciting in it's self, makes us all feel inclusive of their thought processes and discussion.

And since Ji-kun will not drop her mount for me any time soon, it would certainly be nice to tame one of these lovely birds.
Even though we haven't gotten confirmation, it's very exciting indeed to at least have a "maybe" or "likely" instead of "unlikely". I wonder if they're thinking about the pterrowings as well. Those have been my most wanted pets since they were announced... Such lovely dinosaurs.
Edit: Oooh, and I almost forgot about the Pterrodax. While outdated a bit outdated, it would make a nice addition to pets as well. Seeing as it uses the bat model I've never understood why they weren't tamable. Not sure which family they would fit to though. Same with dimetrodons, which could easily be made crocolisks or basilisks.

It's very true. That over these expansions Blizz devs have learned what hunters want, and hunter pet families have become a favorite little side project for the devs in regards to an expansion, mainly because we can use these beautiful beasts that noone will see again in an expansion or two, and we make them timeless, in a way.
But I've also learned after all these years of playing to take what Blizz devs say with a grain of salt until we get a screenshot or video confirming it and staying until release. (Faction Capitals...)

*nods* Especially in early beta I'm gonna be taking things with a grain of salt but I can't help but get excited with just TALK of it. I freaking love Ji-kun's model and her kin and just that they're getting some attention is enough for me to celebrate some.

Some new pets come in small steps. ^^

So I did the revamped RFK
Just wanted to confirm:
Ghost boars ARE gone.
ALL of the armored boars are gone, actually.
Blind Hunter has been renamed and is now a main boss.
All bats are WoD model. None tameable at this time))

Good to know. At least some are available in other places, but, it might be wise to go tame them now if you know you want them.

Currently all the living armored boar models have rares you can find with their looks.
Really all we need is a new ghostly orange armored one and we're set.
Btw you can't even go down to where the boars used to be either...vines throw you back up.

Blimey, didn't quite think it through, but yeah, that's basically the only place those armoured boar skins appear except for the rares.

I feel like we should get a tameable armored boar using the new models. Older ones didn't appeal to me much. Love my hellboar though.

There is no rare spawn for the brown boar skin, that is spawned by Aggem, so you will need to go and tame it in RFK to have it. That skin will not be available at all outside RFK.

I beg to differ
Not to mention.
Sure, they're not transparent, but it *is* the brown boar skin that I believe you're talking about.
