After some help from Wain I got some of the files to work in WMV. I found the other colours of cloud serpent under the Serpent God file, so sadly I don't think there will be mount versions of these (they're gorgeous though!).

Thanks Veph!! I saw those in there but I was kinda over it by that stage and didn't take any pictures of the "gods" models. They needed a much darker background to render properly and I was worn out ;) Yours came out beautifully!

THAT PURPLE AND BLUE ONE :O

Seriously, wouldn't put it past Blizzard to make those Challenge or Achievement-related rewards.

Did WMV get updated to be usable with MoP?

Not when I checked yesterday. In MoP, they've split up the old Art.mpq file (which has all the model data in the current game) into two separate files: Models and Textures. WMV of course currently has no idea what to do about this.

So basically to get WMV to view the models you have to extract the data from the MoP files and copy them into a copy of Art.mpq from the current game. Then set WMV to read data from that copy.

You need to make your own modified copy of Art.mpq (copy it from your game, don't edit the game copy! :) . I have instructions for doing that at the start of this thread: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13887

Make a copy of Art.mpq on your desktop. Use Ladik's MPQ Editor to extract all the model data from both MOP data files: Models and Textures (which has the skin files). Thankfully once you extract both you end up with both the model and skin info together in the same model folders, just like it is in the live game.

Open your Art.mpq copy with MPQ editor. Click on Creatures. Drag and drop the extracted model folders of interest (from wherever you saved them) into the Window to copy them in. It saves automatically. Open WMV and configure it to use the Art.mpq from the desktop rather than the game copy. Restart it. And it should work :) (copied from a PM I sent someone who asked how to to this :) )

I was just thinking... while those silkworms aren't likely to ever be tameable, I wonder if they plan on making correspondingly-coloured silk moths. They could use something like a lunar moth shaped wing and would make amazingly beautiful pets. They just need to modify the wing of the regular moth model.

I saw the hunter PvP gear with the wolf head on the shoulder, while my pet wolf, Kiba, doesn't approve of the armor design, has Blizzard given wolves a face lift too?

No new wolves or old ones changed so far that we know off. But many zones stil closed.
I like how that wolf head looks like from the side but from the front i feel its muzzle is way to big and round, similar to the northrend wolves muzzle just..bigger.

that aside id love to see a new wolf model, specially seeing that cata dident bring anny.
Im not considering the horde pvp mount or the skelleton hounds.

a bit off topic - reading this made me think how weird I'd look wearing this set and having my ghost wolf out :O As if I killed the poor beast, made myself some shiny shoulders and enslaved it's spirit ;/

I would love to see new wolf and bear models! - these are my favourite animals :)

Yeah, I'm not too sure how the average worgen hunter would feel about it either.

Seems... kinda.... Ed Gein with hair, to me, somehow.

This is a bit of a tangent, but I was thinking earlier on what new tameable beast types we may be getting in Mists.

I mean, looking at the creature models we've discovered (so far), a good portion of them seem to be animals we already have families for. I'm fairly certain Cranes would join the Tallstrider family, we already have Cats and Turtles. Yet we always get a few new tameable families.

This is one of the reasons I feel so certain Hydras will finally become tameable in MoP, because they're long overdue after the inclusion of their own family, plus they suit the theme in my opinion. Besides them however, we can start to look at a few other possibilities. I feel many of the critter types will just remain as such (otters, beavers, raccoons, etc), but the Porcupines seem a likely candidate for a new tameable family. Yaks could be another possibility. Perhaps even the Mushan beasts? Or maybe Blizzard will decide to add an ungulate family to include goats, talbuks, stags? (wishful thinking) Basilisks are another idea, if we look at more old world beasts.

Anyways, I was just brainstorming on it today. How many new beast families do we tend to get each expansion? It's usually a handful, so there's lots of potential in Mists.
