Just an update, the "chromatic chimaera" has been toned down and is now just a sober red instead of a very flamboyant magenta and blue.

Can't we have both? I love both of them. The chromatic is so unique and the newer one is a stunning array of autumn colours. I'd prefer the older one tbh, but both are gorgeous in my eyes.

Dangit. Can Horde hunters get riverbeasts in beta, or are they only in Shadowmoon Valley? Seeing those pics makes me want to reenact my old Warchief GIR picture from MoP beta:
http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 39&t=17280 with one of 'em.

That giant hippo baby is absolutely terrifying. Don't mind me if I avoid major cities for a while now. Especially Stormwind. Despite his huge size, that baby riverbeast is quite the ninja.

Quick question. Anyone seen this skin? It's gorgeous, not as good as the void wolf, but I haven't seen anyone bring this beastie up. Unless he's in a zone that isn't quite available yet, I'm afraid they might not put him in-game.

Edit---trying to make this god damn picture appear, rarer than a link to it instead *sigh* if it doesn't work, could someone perhaps explain how I do this please? I'd prefer my posts to show an actual picture, rather than a link to it. I get the impression people don't click on links to them as often, I know I don't.

I actually love that new one much more than the old chromatic.

I edited your post to display it, so you can look at the code in your own post to get an idea :)

Basically you need to get the url of your attached image (say, open it in another tab then copy the url, or right click on the link and copy the url). Then in your post, enclose it in img and /img tags, like:

Code: Select all

Oooh I see. Thanks Wain! I won't go posting unnecessary pictures to test it out, but I'll be sure to remember it when I decide to post a picture. Which will happen a lot in WoD, judging by how photogenic all there pets are :D

Boven: I remember seeing riverbeasts in both gorgrond and Talador, but I can't remember if they were tamable.

but you can also get into shadowmoon as horde if you're willing to ride for awhile, security isn't that tight at the entrance and you can sneak by with camo

I know they said it was unlikely they would be tameable, but I sincerely hope that we get tameable dread ravens.

Also, the two main beasts that I wish were tameable for hunters are Stags and Hippogryphs! I doubt they will ever become tameable, but I sorely wish that they were.

Is it wrong that, every time I log in to the beta, I constantly open up a suggestion ticket solely to beg for Teroclaw and Teroclaw Chick to be tameable?

Cause I want to tame a giant co-er, bird.

Sorry to be the party pooper but i like the new chimera more than the overly garish original. I thought the colors were so bright that they just ended up looking fake and spray painted on. I don't think i would want to tame either version but to each their own. Maybe those who like the old one will get a rare to tame or somthing.

That's why I liked it, because it was so weird and ugly. The 'new' one is just boring old red... ):

Yeah I'm torn on the change. The original was very garish, and the new looks more... well about as "realistic" you can expect a red, two-headed wolf-giraffe-bat to look. :) But the original was also very different and I think that's cool even if it's a bit weird. Instead of a second red (even if it's a lovely red with yellow wings), it would have been nice to see a different colour altogether. Actually, mentioning wings... it would be great if they gave each of the other colours some varied shading on their wings too. Currently the wings are all pretty much identical between them and since the wings take up a large % of their surface area the colours do tend to look a bit the same.

As an npc mount in Blackrock Spire, I like the garish technocolor chimera. It's a nice call-back to Gyth. As a hunter pet, I'm still not enamored with 'rylaks', so I'm pretty indifferent on the colors offered. Unless the reptilian deer model gets used.

Now I've looked on the newer one for a few minutes, I see what you mean. Perhaps it's colours were a bit too bright. While I wouldn't mind the older chromatic one as a rare, like you say, I'm kinda thankful for the change. If everyone decided to get one of these, I'd of been blinded he minute I walked into a major city.

Also, on the newer one, I love it's eyes. I liked the cream/light tan coloured Rylak before, because of its eyes. However, this one seems less washed and had gorgeously bright blue eyes :3 it's almost as if the light tan Rylak was this one, but left in the wash too long. They must've been trying to get its bright colours out
