It's sad to loose that abomination (in a good sense

), but the new skin is just like tailor-made for my main: redish and gold with blueish shiny eyes. And this makes it THE ONE I'll be taming

Dangit. Can Horde hunters get riverbeasts in beta, or are they only in Shadowmoon Valley? Seeing those pics makes me want to reenact my old Warchief GIR picture from MoP beta:
http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 39&t=17280 with one of 'em.
Horde can get riverbeasts yes. Tan one are in Gorgrond and Talador. Green one is in Talador. Blue one is in Shadowmoon, which we can get into through Talador.

I like I'd much prefer if Rylaks stood on their hindlegs. More like a proto, but all the time. So when they run they don't look like a fish out of water and look like the true hunters they are

if they were to do their walking animation, either using their wings for support or just staying on their hindlegs would be fine.
I could imagine that (if they were to keep Rylaks being able to fly into combat and up into the air) then when they landed they'd go down on their wings and legs, before rising up back onto their hindlegs. Not sure if that made. 100% sense though
I'll have a go at sketching what I think a Rylak should look like when on the ground, rather than the dead fish it is. I'll be taming one either way, but tbh a Rylak is a fearsome predator, not some land hugging fishy. It's meant to look scary when it runs at it's prey, not completely comical, after all. So, I'll go grab a notebook, pencil, a picture of a Rylak and an ice Popsicle and have a go at it. May not be up till the morning, but I'll try to get it finished. It won't be coloured, mind you. I'm not that good at art. I'm not good at art anyway

but as long as you can tell what the creature is doing and what it is, I'll be happy ^_^
Edit--don't kill me please! I know I've now murdered Rylaks on a whole, I'm sorry! I didn't mean too...however, I am quite proud of his faces. I was expecting them to be the part. Apparently I struggle with legs instead. He also looks top heavy, my bad. Try to ignore the fact that he looks like he's about to topple over. And that odd thingy in the corner? It's meant to be a rock, not a bowl of food or the product of eating food :/

I'll settle for a link to the pic now...apparently the 'making an image appear rather than a link' won't work for these kinds of pictures, or screenshots for that matter

Or I'm doing something wrong...again.

It would be neat if they ran on two legs, and their idle/resting animation remains. But they're such long and lanky creatures I don't think anything can make them look too ferocious xD But I like them a lot honestly. Especially cool seeing the giant rylak in Gorgrond (name escapes me) flying over head. If they keep their aerial attack capabilities, they're also a lot of fun. I do wish they were a bit larger when tamed, but I guess that would lead to clipping issues? But right now they're just really small.

That's also a problem. They're too thin and small. I guess it'd make them more aerodynamic. That's why I'd prefer an armoured one, simply because it wouldn't look so malnourished all the time. I reckon if Blizzard bulked them up a little bit more, bot not so much that they look ridiculous, and made them a bit bigger, it'd be alright. If they ran on two legs, clipping issues with larger wings wouldn't be so much of a problem.
If they had the problems of clipping it'd bug me to no end. But at least those wings, or whatever else is clipping, wouldn't be going through the hunter anymore.

Sadly the giant hippo is well known. Seen a lot over the past two days.
If anything, it should stay tameable, but smaller than the normal Riverbeast. Maybe Porcupine size.

I've been repeating myself many times, but can someone suggest beavers to be tamable and be part of riverbeast, clefthooves tamable as rhinos and gyreworm to be part of shale beast; which inludes shale spider too.
This would be probably an unpopular opinion, but I wish cranes and seagulls are grouped together as 'water bird'.

I can suggest cleft hooves and gyre worms later today. Have already suggested these:
Dimetrodons as basilisk/crocolisk
Beavers as river beast
Pterrorwings and pterrordax could form their own family if they can't fit into another
Rams can fit in the goat family
Might be missing some.
Thunder lizards and kodos would be fun too but not sure where they would fit.

I think rams and stags should go into some weird goatish family

Yes but no. It would be hard to call stags a goat

Ehmm....
Check the tweets from Muffins. Looks like the stag family is coming, and clefthooves are part of the family.

Vicious War Raptor?
Awww yiiis. Yes, it's probably the RBG saddle mount, like the PvP horse and wolf, and undead horse and saber in MoP, but it does mean a new raptor model, which then could be a pet! Yesssahh! Way overdue.

Awesome! Could you suggest shoveltusk as either boar or stag, and seagulls and crane as waterbird too?

After the icon, I had a feeling this would happen, and I'm glad it did. Finally a new raptor model. Long overdue, no?
