New dragon "Sandsurge" came out today. I had a spare unhatched bogsneak egg, so I hatched it to see what I could do with a breed change. Sadly, they forgot to give us free change scrolls like they normally do, and they cost 1000 gems to purchase. Yikes... I can't afford one lol. Regardless, I went and tried to scry my bogsneak into a sandsurge, and I ended up with something nice.
Savannah primary, Basic secondary, and Stained tertiary. Colors are Stonewash, Denim, and Cerise. All of the secondary genes are either too excessive for their wing size, or just looked super gaudy. I kept it fairly simple, and I really like how this turned out. Now I just need to scrounge up 1442 gems somehow (and make another bogsneak while praying for a boy on the first try) to start working on my breeding pair...

Yeah, I'm pretty unhappy about them being a gem breed. I'm also not thrilled that they seem to forget that iri/shim and metallic/alloy exist and I was really hoping this breed would've gotten either. *sighs*
Anyway, being a fan of D&D, here's the chromatic black dragon pair I hope to have when I can afford two friggin scrolls, but not having access to iri/shim or metallic/alloy just feels
off because none of the available secondary genes feel right to me. :/ I know that guardian is also an option, and I might just do that, but the male I have would need metallic and alloy and the female (already a guardian) would need alloy, so either way I slice it, this will be an
expensive project. I'm sorry for being such a downer, having a really bad day where nothing's gone right, but I
do like the new ancient, I just wish it wasn't a damn gem breed.

turns out I'm still working on my 'surge pair. plan is to give thundercrack to
Doris. here's what their hatchies will look like (chitin will be more common than thundercrack):

as Boris will
still have a breeding CD, I probably won't gene her until the end of the festival

ooo ivory saddle is gorgeous, Syleye!
and looks like the guardian scries are the most popular! I agree Maria with guardian being the best choice for Dreamchaser, so I'll have Phi be the fae.
