I know it's not polite to ask for more when we've already been given so much, but I wonder if it's possible that they'll make the ghost hydra tamable again. That would be the ultimate happy for me. Even so, I'd still be completely thrilled with regular tamable hydras. Been waiting for this for a while! /fangirl squee

Helps if I post it in the right thread:
Ryai has found
Level 86 ELITE Green hydra in Zul'Gurub. they are called "Lost Offspring of Gahz'ranka" aka the dead one.
They also hit like trucks are lurk in the water I'm told.

At level 86 they won't be tamable.

Same with the NEON BRIGHT Boss Wasp who is also Level 86 in there, hopefully they'll get level dropped.

I heard MMOC pulled the hydra announcement... Did they put it back? I'm just checking.
If this is real and not a cruel joke, I will finally, FINALLY, FIIIINNNAALLLY be able to get my beautiful Strasaz hydra. It's the next best thing to having a pet black dragon!
Also, just as a note, given that someone datamined the fact that they have two pet abilities, one of which is passive, this is pretty much a clear statement they're going to be exotic. And likely Cunning just to round out the 3/3/3 selection for pets.

The Petopia page only has them listed with one ability, I don't think that DND thing was a hydra ability.

That's pretty much exactly how I feel.

Hydra
* Bellowing Roar: New
* Tamed Pet Passive (DND): New
That's what they were datamined with. "Tamed Pet Passive" sounds nothing like a second exotic ability, to me at least.

Well, to me it sounds like a 'Passive pet ability field we haven't named yet but this is a placeholder'.
I mean, sure, I'd like them to be nonexotic too since my primary dungeon spec is survival, but I do honestly think they're going to end up there. I mean, they -are- >< close to dragons.

I also recall the new Cata pet families having this datamined 'ability', which isn't really an ability per se; looks more like a game mechanic.

That's what I was thinking, Cialbi. I have a feeling it'll be a new mechanic for all pets more-so than a potential hydra ability.

Just out of curiosity, on the Hydra page (
http://www.wow-petopia.com/family/hydra.html ) list
Green and the
Bronze (orange) Hydra as unused?
They're currently in game now in Azshara

They were removed when Cata came I think.

They both were, the Green has resurfaced in Zul'Gurub on the PTR but is Level 86 thus still pretty much untouchable. Orange however is still missing entirely.

Ickabob wrote: As for their current raid buff (crit buff similar to wolves and devilsaurs) it might not be a bad thing if it is the same as those pre-existing buffs as it gives hunters more choice of pets skins while still allowing them access to the crit buff. After all, wouldn't more choice in pet skins be, if nothing else, a good thing?
If there going to give them a pre-existing buff, they should give it one (or two in the case of exotics) buff that doesn't already have it in the same category of pet. Example Dragonhawks and Wind Serpents. If they do turn out to be exotics here's hoping they get a cool AoE (+crit buff), my Chimera feels lonely in that department.

Well on the PTR they still arent tameable

However they do have a diet! Even the out lands ones do I was staring a the purple one in netherstorm
