Nope, I talked to her before I got all the Kanto Badges, so you don't need all of them to do so. By the way, after you've given her doll back, go back to the Pokemon Fanclub, once you exit it the former champion of Hoenn, Steven Stone will come and mention that one of the Lati's has been seen in Kanto (Latios in SoulSilver and Laitas in HeartGold) and after that, all you have to do is track it down just like Raikou and Entei! Very usefull little dragons they are. *Hugs her Latios*

I have a question.....does thief still steal items if it OHKO's the target? Tryin to get a dragonscale to get a Kingdra and the only way to get one in RSE is to steal em from Bagons or Horseas (as far as I know). Was wonderin cuz I taught it to my crobat (lvl 60...only evolved him for the pokedex page....me wants a totodile!).....and he mostly one shots his targets wit it.....just wonderin if I'm wastin my time. ty in advance.

Hm, I dunno 'bout that... I can't remember if it does, so I'd say your best bet is to just catch as many as you can to see if you get one who's holding a DragonScale.

I played the original Red waaaay back when. Started with a Bulbasaur (love that little guy) and did eventually end with all 101 Pokemon. Mailed my Uncle in NYC the cartride to get me a Mew at an event. lol
Recently picked up a used copy of Emerald and Pearl. Playing Emerald now (started with Treecko and got to the first gym. Game seems a lot more complicated than I remember it being. Breeding? Pokeblocks? How many do I have to catch to complete the Pokedex?

hehe

@Talo; there are 200 pokemon in the emerald pokedex, 202 if u add the secret pokemon Jirachi and Deoxys (I made a guide on how to get em all except Jirachi and Deoxys). You can catch some of the original 2nd generation pokemon and Meowth after beating the pokemon league.
Also two new types were added after pokemon Red: Dark (super effective against ghost and psychic, immune to psychic attacks, Fighting and bug are supereffective against it) and Steel (supereffective against rock and ice, immune to poison type, fire, ground , and fighting are supereffective against it)
Also Magnemite and Magneton (classic 1st gen pokemon) became half steel and gained an evolution in Pearl.
Hope I cleared a few things up for you ^_^

200? Wow, that's a lotta pokemon. o_o
I started a Pearl game, and got to the point where you pick a Pokemon. Can't decide between the little penguin (fergot the name) or Turtwig. 8)

What?? No flame-butt monkey? D:>
I've gotta put my vote in for Piplup. It's last evolution is probably the coolest of the Sinnoh trio.

I'd go with chimchar but I like monkeys so yeah....other then him I'd choose piplup cuz of the interesting typing his final form has (Water/Steel....making him weak to only Fighting, Ground and Electric attacks)

The diamond/pearl/platnium generation are probably the first of the pokemon games where I didnt start off with the fire starter. I just really dont like the fire monkey style...Piplup's final evolution Empeleon is a pretty cool and tough water/steel type, whish is a nice combo. Turtwigs final evolution Torterra is a powerful grass/ground combination. I personally like torterra the best out of this gen's starters. batteling over wi-fi, torterra has single handedly won me ~80% of my fights. the move sets it can learn make it a power-house pokemon.
but thats just my opinion

I opted for Piplup, now named Linus. Now I gotta find a grass type, feels weird not having a grass type. I am a bit partial to grass/bug pokemon for some reason.
I really do miss my Bulbasaur. Is there any way to get one in the new games? Or am I gonna be forever without my leafy dino?

You can trade over one from another game if you've got one. Or if you get lucky, you could find one on the GTS. Or, you could mosey over to the little Pokémon trading thread we've got and see if anyone here has one.

I think there is a way to get one in Heart Gold/Soul Silver
Edit: To get it in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, you must get all Johto and Kanto badges, then defeat Red.....Prof Oak will let you have a Kanto starter. You can't get him in Pearl unless you trade with HG or SS or use Pal Park to get him from a 3rd Gen game (Fire Red/Leaf Green and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.....to get him in the latter three games, choose him as a starter in FR/LG then defeat the elite 4......afterwards go to the Sevii Islands to get the Ruby and the Sapphire to allow trades with 3rd gen games.....you must have caught 60 pokemon before defeating the elite four tho so you can have the national pokedex to unlock the mission for the ruby and sapphire) Hope this helps

For those of you that play Ruby Sapphire and Emerald, I recently made this guide for your viewing pleasure. It tells you how to fill the Hoenn Pokedex (which will unlock the Johto Starters in Emerald). Also includes tips and Fun Facts.

oooh Drowzee! I think some pokemon like drowzee and dunsparc are overlooked alot in the games when given the choice of using pokemon with more...appealing?...appearances like tyranitar, garchomp, eevelutions and such. I'd like to find out what stratagies people could come up with for pokemon with "inferior" **term used loosly and not ment to offend anyone** stats.
with over 400 pokemon available to capture, I've noticed over the wi-fi that many people are using relatively limited selections of pokemon...by which I mean, out of 20 people I've battled, 70% had a charizard/and or garchomp, 90% used a generation started (other then charizard), 50% used a crobat, and 90% had some form of legandary pokemon. Oh, and lucario is also a very popular pokemon used.
I want to start mixing up pokemon and trying out combos of little used or neglected members of the pokemon rooster, and suggestions?

Blissey is very good cuz she/he/it has the highest HP of all pokemon. You could also try Yanmega who is a beast. If you are fighting in double battles I saw a very effective strategy using Regigigas that involves skill swapping his terrible ability for a better one. Shuckle has the highest defenses of any pokemon so he could be used to stall or something.....Also dunsparce is very good at annoying opponents with paralysis and flinching. Shedinja has an interesting niche with his ability Wonder Guard (Immune to all dmg except super effective hits, poison dmg, burn dmg, and spikes/toxic spikes/stealth rock) and being Bug/Ghost doesn't leave much that can hit him (Fire, Rock, Ghost, Flying, maybe Dark...)

Heh, I love Abomasnow for some reason. ^^ Its ice/grass combo makes it a very nice pokemon to have in your team. I also like Bronzong very much.

Blissy does make a good stall/set-up pokemon with its high health. Yanmega is a sudo-popular one over wi-fi, and Regigigas is a legandary, which I want to avoid due to the snubbing of "Ubers" over wi-fi...some people actually disconnect from battles where the opponent has an "Uber"...sigh, even though they're not as tough as some people think. Shuckel and dunsparce are to really good set-up/status pokemon if used correctly. Shedninj and I have not had much luck in the past...I always seem to get stuck fighting something I am weak against, or something that knows a move I am weak against...is there an item that could help with that? Abomasnow is an interesting pokemon to use, what move set would you suggest for it though? bronzong, can't say I've ever actually used that one before...killed many wild ones, and have one collecting dust in my box...but never actually used one.
What would you say is the least used TYPE of pokemon in the game? (ie ghost, grass, bug, etc)
