Yeah, it was already confirmed that the Celestial Cloud Serpent (Not sure if that's what it's actually called, but you get the idea!) is a (low?) drop chance from Elegon.

But thanks for the list! I was slightly confused by the number of cloud serpents and who came from where, hehe. But I thought there was going to be a normal black cloud serpent? ):

Nope. You can find Onyx eggs around the quest areas for Order of the Cloud Serpent...but they are basically Netherwing Eggs 2.0

*Sob* That was the mount I wanted most... ):

I still think that perhaps Alani should've had a mount that stood out a bit more in terms of colour though. Perhaps she should've dropped the August (Golden) mount instead.

Only difference between TLPD and Phosphorescent compared to other proto-drakes and stone drakes is color, too. :P It matches her (like TLPD!) and can't be obtained elsewhere in a lighting-laden red form, so I'm pleased.

Good to see that the Sky Crystal appears to do some damage to Alani! That means using the Crystal more or less tags her.

I didn't say it wasn't. I'm saying, in comparison to TLPD and PSD, the colour seems very dull, especially when the only thing that seperates it from another mount is the lightning effect.

As for Onyx, I recall someone saying they bought one off of a vendor after doing some sort of questchain..its in that egg tracking thread.

:o *Curious* Oohh. I shall go see. I'll be happy if I can get my hands on the onyx one!

Edit: Hrm, I couldn't find anything. Unless I'm going blind and completely overlooked one of the posts or something, which is normally the case.

Still there is something separating her from the others.

I had the wrong thread in mind, it's this one. http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 0&start=20

So here a question. Lets say you get the 10 rare drops and form the crystal to call Alani down, and after you remove the protective cloud someone else tags Alani before you. Does that person get the tag and the loot? Does the lighting bolt that the crystal generates to remove the protection cause damage to tag the mob for you?

The crystal removes a big chunk of her HP and tags her in the process.

Yep, it does. No worries about someone ganking the result of that hard-earned crystal!

That is good. That would suck to have someone just sitting there waiting for you to pop your crystal then BAM tag your mob.

I think this method is 100% better than TLPD and Aeonaxx.

TLPD perhaps, but why Aeonaxx? Only one person can jump on his back and the lucky someone that gets there first is the winner.

Unless he bugs out and the unlucky someone gets parachuted to the ground.

Yes... :P It's true that Aeonaxx has/had his fair share of irritating and disappointing bugs, but I still think the mounting system is fun and very handy.

I think its better because you can farm the local mobs for the shards and you can do that non-stop. Even if RNG is low, you still have endless mobs to farm.

Also, on the beta Alani seemed to spawn more often that the RNG associated with TLPD and Aeonaxx.

I have to admit though, the system for getting Alani is my favourite so far. It means no random noob can walk up, find her on a whim, kill her and never decide to use the mount.
