New Wolf Skin.
Re: New Wolf Skin.
Got one thing to say.
Madexx.
The first time I EVER managed to find him... guess what color he was.
Bronze. Yep.
Two weeks later, it's common.
Black?
Common.
Does it matter? Nope. Still usin' my common black -in addition- to the blue one I found later.
For crying out loud, stop screaming like spoiled, entitled little brats, some of you. Blizzard doesn't OWE you anything. It doesn't owe you porcupines or silkworms. It doesn't owe you anything at all. They didn't have to bring Karoma's skin back, they did it because they were being nice about it. Frankly, a LOT of people were extremely unhappy that Karoma -was- a spirit beast, because in many cases its ability is inferior to wolf crit, and besides, even I (who has been BM since vanilla) will agree that the spec has been pretty gimpy since its glory days of mid-BC.
In addition, wolves (aside from the horde worg) currently are a family that has bupkis in regards to attractive skins. There's a hundred interesting cats, from shiny to rock, but wolves get a mount copy and an old skin made transparent and other than that it's 'do you like brown or gray' pretty much.
If the category of one set of polygons is enough to make you turn into a raging dou...rakesatchel, then get the hell outta my game and go play Warhammer or something so I never have to deal with you. Or try growing up. Back away from the game, because this is obviously turning into some kind of crazed obsession that's gone way beyond a recreational entertainment.
Jeez.

Re: New Wolf Skin.
sigh.. can we please keep this civil. Its enough on the beta forums with people argueing and fighting about hunters, its just a pet... If you dont like it, dont tame it end. If you like it, go and tame it. If you have an opinion please use an inside voice and dont pick fights.. in the end its just a game, no point in fighting with other people about a moving polygon in a game.
thank you Ashaine and Kurenio!!!!

This is the key thing here. Now I'm as much a don't-you-dare-touch-my-rares as anyone else here, but...Azunara wrote:A SV hunter will never get a devilsaur. Or a corehound. Or a Qulin. They will never get Silithids. God forbid they get a muted shade of one pet.
1) It's NOT the same skin. If it was the same, then it would be worth the fight, but it's NOT the same skin.
2) It's a freeking wolf, I don't see why BM hunters are raging about a wolf.
3) It's clear that Noah and team are using up all the other unused skins sitting in the model files. This should be expected.
4) Assuming the water strider thing was a glitch, BM is getting two new exotic families in Panda. (If that's taken away from BM, I will be annoyed).
5) I'd rather see those running around than the boring grey wolfs.
6) Now one note on the other side... this is the first time, I think, that an alternate skin of a exotic rare has been made common. If they continue to do this, then some of the raging might be justified, but, not yet.

Re: New Wolf Skin.
Wow, and I thought I was raging earlier. <.<; Can't leave this thread for a few hours without it having a rage explosion, apparently.
It's a different color than Skoll, so I'm not worried that he's less unique or anything (say what you will, but if the skin only spawns on one mob it's unique in my book). It's even a very pretty color, and I could care less that it's a recolor--recolors are the name of the 'mobs in an MMO' game, for crying out loud. If every single mob had its own very special model, much less of literally everything else would get done.
I'm just kinda worried what the skin being on a wolf might mean for Exotics in the future. :c
You'd be amazed how long the beta thread on the forums asking for just this has gotten. No matter what you bring up, they accuse you of 'gaming the lore' and point at the fire spiders, at Terrorpene, at the ghost saber, at the Lone Hunter, at Skarr, at Karkin, and they'll be pointing at this trying to twist it into a reason to give exotics to everyone. That's my main worry, at this point.Azunara wrote:A SV hunter will never get a devilsaur. Or a corehound. Or a Qulin. They will never get Silithids. God forbid they get a muted shade of one pet.

Re: New Wolf Skin.
That's a real concern, but, I don't see real signs of that happening yet (unless the waterstriders do get taken away from BM). But that rage in the forums is basically BM hate that runs deep, ever since the great nerf.Ziarre wrote:You'd be amazed how long the beta thread on the forums asking for just this has gotten. And I don't think this wolf skin is a major sign of that, yet... BM still has unique exotics.
I wonder about the amount of rage if they decide to use one of the alternate Loq skins on a common...
On the flip side, it would have been nicer if this skin was used on a rare instead of a common, but, I'm not gonna rage about that.

I don't think there are any alt. Loque/Har'koa skins in the database, just the one.

Re: New Wolf Skin.
i love this and i think its a much m ore creative way to add the unused skoll recolors into the game.....its certantly better than how they added in the other gondria colors with firelands....they should have made skarr into one of the take off your armor tames....seems like they just stuck the spirit cats in last minute

Re: New Wolf Skin.
Actually I believe Skarr and Karkin were the last-minute additions. There were eight advertised, the spirit beasts were some of the first found, and those two were kind of a 'surprise, have a gem crab and kitty!'

Re: New Wolf Skin.
As much as I do like the idea, looking at it again it does seem like it doesn't really match a "plain" ordinary Wolf.
