Found this boy in the pound so pretty and mostly nice stats

Joined a few days ago. It's nice but way too much time gating for my liking. I keep running out of stuff to do and the way the art assets don't all match bothers me.
I'm trying to breed for a rainbow owl roc (deviant color+deviant pattern sooty owl). I managed to get a deviant chick but it looks like he's going to grow up to be a pink eagle (snowy instead of sooty). He's got neutral stats and decent genes so far so I'm not unhappy.
If you click the pets bred by you, on your profile, it shows your babies as adults. Also seems to list your wild tames for some reason.

I decided to try it out because of you all I don't know what Im doing and I don't know if I'll stay interested in it, but the pets look pretty neat and I also like the custom skins aspect.

I started with these two:



+ two cockatrices I don't care much for from the tutorial.

Then I adopted this gryphon lady from the pound today. She came as level 11 and I liked her coloration.



I also wanted a Lykos, so I bought this female for a cheap price.



Havent successfully caught any wild pets yet... >.>

Edit: I don't normally go for pre-named pets but I couldn't pass up what I think is a deviant pattern. Plus no bad stats! No green ones either but that's okay.

Alright, I was tempted enough to check this site out. It's pretty interesting, I like the exploration maps. I'm not entirely certain if I'm going to be very active yet, the artwork doesn't immediately grab me, but it's worth trying out at least. There's a lot I still don't understand of course, it seems pretty complicated in some aspects. For now I'm content just using up all my energy potions and exploring for the day.

I started out with a dragon, and I feel lucky that he came out in blue since I'm partial to blue males. And then I felt even more lucky that my Pound pet was a black roc (I love black birds) so I'm really content with my 'starters'. (I'm not sure how to link these properly yet lol)


The two gryphons that joined my lair aren't really my cup of tea though so I'll let them go whenever that's possible.

Nice to see some more people joining. The game certainly is very different from FR. I've been enjoying the exploring feature a lot.

Yeah i love the explore feature too. Reminds me of an old might and magic game

I wonder if the explore feature is similar to what FR staff have in mind for "adventure mode", if that ever comes out... I know they said you'd move your "avatar" around in a virtual world doing quests or gathering? Though hopefully the FR adventure mode is a bit better than Beastkeeper's, of course.

Yeah I love exploring as well, it's incredibly addictive.

Tyger and Nef - Both of you have such pretty custom skins there, and what luck to find them in the pound!

I went on a taming and breeding spree yesterday.

Diamond has slightly better stats but the same colouration as her half-brother Tintin, so off he went to the pound and I'll be keeping the girl for now.


Waterfall grew up and I definitely like him better than his mother.


Poison, Trixie and Caprice are being tamed, so we'll see if they're keepers once done.


Darkness and Sunblaze treated me to twins yet again, so I popped out these two girls. Nightmare will be staying with me, but the other girl is up for grabs (Tarn has priority). She is Onyx Black with plus to intelligence and agility and a minus to bite damage (she's the linked one if you want to check her out).

Balto and Fierce had a lovely little Bicolour Gray girl who has rather nice stats (three green).


And finally, I fell for another Throdama at the pound today. GIVE ME ALL THRODAMA COLOURS AND VARIANTS. I'm really surprised, I never thought an insect would attract me so much. Maybe it's the vibrant colours?
