They may be moving all the old models out into the 'old models' category for when you check mark that box in the interface since they have that option now.

Wow that's interesting! So we may have the option of both? If so, maybe they'll do the same thing with hunter pets.

I admit I really like a lot of the model updates. They've done a great job at keeping the original feel. I'll reserve judgement on the bear, though.

I am unsure, just me speculating! I know that right now we have the option to view 'old character models'! So it wouldn't be a stretch to think that they'd be possibly just moving these into that group?

Absolutely It seems unusual that they'd go to all that trouble unless they plan to make good use of it. So it's a solid theory.

So basically the best of both worlds! (Although I'm still side-eyeing the bear model for now.)

If they do this though I hope they keep character models and beast models as separate options. I like the new player models but if they do something drastic to old beast models I'd hate to have to be forced into one or the other :s

I.... dunno. I do like the old world boxcats (I still use the shiny poison-colored one on my tauren) but by the same token... I think they look kinda terrible next to the new player models. I think I have more polygons in my left hand than the entire cat's body. And the weird jaggies on the old world wolves/worgs manes need...fixing...

Or they could make it like the outline mode, and add a drop down menu for it with multiple options. Something like...

Show all new models
Show new Character models only
Show new Beast models only
None


I think Battle pets would be lumped together with beasts.

Wow.. Those battle pet updates are great. Though I'm now a little concerned, that my shiny mountain cottontail is not going to keep it's shiny coat.

But other than that. The whelplings, owls, squirrels and the nightmare spider pets look very nice!

Quintessence was worried about the very same thing, and I don't think she found out what is happening to it yet.

But I can say that the shininess of that rabbit was because it used a different model with shiny effects, and not because of the skin. It just used the plain white skin. If they're replacing the old models with new, they would likely replace that model as well. Hopefully they'll replace it with a version of the new model that has the same shiny effects. They kinda need it for the quest (where it originated, I think) anyway.

just lurking around and by accident and boredom, I clicked your link... what do I see... my Wolf's name "stolen" for a SB! Now I know why there was a restriction on Hati, named mine Háti! and yeah it's after norse mythology, sonmy guess that that SB is another wolf since that's what Hati is in mythology.

and so far most of the new models look amazing, heck I might even be getting a bassilisk since that model I do like!
Now to the hard part.... finding out which pets to sack for Legion.... Need 10 more stable slots plz!
