Very unlikely. Most store mounts and pets are one-offs (and in some cases, far too many-offs like those ugly plush pandas), and aren't indicative of incoming new NPCs. Winged crocs would be neat, but no way would the notfelbat croc be a pet. I would love new crocs, and winged crocodiles would be nice, but these are almost certainly just one-offs.
Still upset that they didn't give me the retail pet with the six month sub. I don't want a worthless classic pet when I don't even play that garbage.

As for store mounts that became hunter pets, only these things pulled off
We got the armored bloodwing during MoP and it became a hunter pet in WoD
We got the grinning reaver during MoP and it became a hunter pet in WoD
We got the Winged Guardian during Cata, it became a pet in shadowlands, not exactly the same, but larions are based off winged guardians
We got the iron skyreaver during late MoP, it became a pet during WoD, literally there’s a few looks just like it.
We got the imperial quilen as a MoP collector’s edition, now a store mount, became tameable in MoP, but got similar ones during BFA
We got the dread raven as a WoD collector’s edition, now a store mount, became tameable in BFA
We got the Mystic Runesaber during WoD, became tameable during legion
We got the luminous starseeker during legion, became tameable at the exact same time
We got the vulpine familiar during BFA, became tameable during shadowlands
We got the Sylverian Dreamer during BFA, unexpectedly became tameable during Dragonflight
We got the Swift Windsteed during MoP, almost became tameable during shadowlands, but got replaced and reclassified rather quickly
We got the Nether-Gorged Mana Wyrm during Shadowlands, became tameable in Dragonflight
We got the Viridian Phase-Hunter during shadowlands, now it’s about to become tameable during this coming patch
These are cases of creatures that do and ended up fitting into the game, many mounts we get nowadays, holiday themes and themes that don’t really make too much sense in the world don’t get added to the world. I’ll be surprised if anything will get added, I’m waiting for a owl that resembles the charming courier, the hybridization just looks too good not to be added soon enough

It’s hard to know with mounts, now.
It used to be common for unusual mount art to turn out to be related to art from the next expansion.
But now we seem to be getting a lot of creative projects from art team members that are simply that and not linked to game content. I.e., many of the trading post mounts.
So who knows which the croc is

Agreed. Mounts used to be a hint as to what is coming, but Wain is right in that a lot of mounts are now just fun projects. And honestly, I can't see winged crocolisks being added in. If we're going-off of the mount's description, it is from Uldum. The next xpac is centered around Quel'thalas and northern Eastern Kingdoms - possibly the Arathi Empire's land, too. Now, they could just add winged crocolisks that are from someplace else, but I just don't see it happening.

I still hope we get some beasts that are like the fire kitten mount. Elemental animals that aren't all just rocks or over simplified proto-creatures. Gimme more flame, ice, void, light, plant friends!

We probably won't see any fun void-y critters until 12.0, but yeah. We definitely need more IMAGINATION applied to the wild critters we can tame.

I could see us getting a skill during midnight to tame void hounds, void creepers, devourers, probably any sort of aberration, K’aresh is filled with void creatures, I can see the first patch of midnight be void-y and dimensional, soul eaters I could see also being found somewhere in midnight or becoming tameable since they are very similar to aberrations

Indeed! There are some cool aberration-y beasts that would make great pets for Midnight. Cross fingers!

So, I can't even open the latest PTR build. Just gets stuck on a load screen, both with an older ptr character and a freshly copied one. Kind of concerning since we're pretty close to release for the patch. It's not a release build (thankfully), but still. I doubt any major pet content is left for us, outside of hopefully getting the remaining bugs fixed, making the rest of the limited razorwings tameable, and doing some slight NPC skin swaps so we don't miss any colors. I mean, I'd LOVE to be wrong, but we're kind of parched on pet stuff for the rest of the expansion it feels.

I checked the ptr yesterday. Nothing has been changed.

Are the new hormed cappies wont be tamable or they aren't in the patch at all?

There was one noteworthy change over the past week; The Nightreaver got a texture change! Though, not one we were expecting. It now has the untethered effect. As far as I can tell, this is the only one that got a new look.
EDIT: OH BOY WAS I WRONG. Untethered Jawhead also keeps this effect.Doesn't keep its name sadly, but still, this caught me off guard.
EDIT 2: It seems that it's only The Nightreaver and Untethered Jawhead that have this effect. I checked every other beast in untethered space that I could find, and no tameable beasts had this effect otherwise. You can verify it by pressing F6 on the mobs you want to investigate, as they will show the effect in the issue reporter if they would keep it when tamed. Amusingly, the Lurking Phasediver (gyreworm shale beast) and Enraged Lapbug Shade (which still isn't tameable) would also keep this effect if they were flagged tameable.

Oh wow that’s amazing, we got more ghostly pets. A neat effect on top of that. It will make them more special. I could see other rares like Sha’ryth keep the effect at some point, I am definitely adding those to my collection, the nightreaver would get along with my anima gorged feaster and the jawhead is a hint to tameable devourers as they are the alpha versions of those untameable bumpskulls

You know, Shay really should keep the effect since it is one of the (few) beasts found in that phase. They gotta fix the lack of animations first though, because that's STILL somehow a problem despite them literally being reskinned wolfhawks lol. I do hope the jawheads are a hint of what's to come, but I have my doubts. Tameable devourers is still looking like it won't happen because there's no actual hints of that anywhere. They could pull a lesser dragonkin taming on us and introduce that after the patch goes live, but I am not holding my breath on that even if they're one of the three biggest things I want lol. Still, the fact we get two new appearances is still a big win, especially for crawg models since those haven't been given anything since they were introduced.

Oh I love the spectral crawg!!! Really awesome that they keep the effect.

Me: awesome find! I'm not usually a fan of 'coloured aura' pets but that one is really beautiful!
Also me: fork it, I don't really have time to make more images.

I'm really not sure how I'm going to simulate that effect.

Easy way to simulate the effect would be to find a green area in the game, say Nagrand or maybe the Emerald Dream, target your pet, Alt+Z to hide the UI, then just carefully paint out the background with the iconic Petopia green color. Getting the right pose might be challenging, but it's a fairly simple task otherwise with any image editing software. Since the pets are semi-transparent, the green from the zone will help offset the natural ghostly effect it has.
Or, you could be a wee bit more lazy and just use a really shoddy edit like this lol.

So, I scoured the PTR again, and we have nothing new. All of our current bugs remain, several beasts remain unflagged and unattackable, all of the skins we hoped would be added haven't been added, and so on. It seems 11.2 is shipping with several bugs and a bunch of unfinished touchups, unless a random build goes out before maintenance next week. Fortunately, our issues are things that can (and should) be nothing more difficult than simple hotfixes later, so hopefully the devs don't forget about us. At least we've got some neat things to look forward to.

Does anyone recognize this style of saddle art as belonging to any race or faction? Especially likely to be an 11.2 one.
These clips are from an odd variation of the upcoming void dragon mount, but this one has a taller saddle with dark metal and severe corners. The saddle doesn't look like it's related to the ones for the regular version, which are presumably Ethereal art, and the saddle is the only thing that is different between the two models. I was hoping to pin down its purpose (as far as I can tell it's not being used yet).
It's almost like orc art, but I can't think of any reason they'd make a special orc saddle for this mount.
