I actually don't like the idea of the ANY pet being made untameable, nor the ZG mounts getting removed, etc. The only exception is, I understand that certain achievement-based things get removed as an attainable thing once the content in question becomes trivialized.
In any case, I think that the devs are making a huge effort--they listened, they heard repeatedly how much we love the Spirit Wolves, and they said "Hell. Yeah, it's a shaman's wolf too now, but you know what? The hunters always loved this guy. We have a Spirit Beast family now--these fit there. Let's add them, for all the people who've been asking." They put in the effort of making it something that won't devalue the rarity of the existing wolves, and will make the hunters who've always wanted this skin happy. I think it's a beautifully done compromise, and I applaud them.

I updated the OP with something I forgot to mention, which has important bearing on tracking for him:
Oddly, unlike other spirit beasts, this guy was aggressive from the minute I saw him as a red blip on my map. He attacked me before I could start taming, when I was just trying to get a pic. I'm not sure if this is deliberate or a mistake. All other spirit beasts have been neutral.

Oh my...and he's non-elite, at least currently. Is Ghostcrawler also non-elite?
This definitely opens up the door on what is and isn't possible for spirit beasts!

Trust me, I don't like the idea of anything getting removed either. As I've stated before, I've always been a big fan of things being available for anyone to achieve, even if it's stupidly hard to accomplish, let us at least try.
I'm just saying that basically, the game has always had exclusive items in it and it always will be. It's just the way it is.
Doesn't mean I like it persay, but I accept that it is just how a dynamic game works.

Completely agreed. I'm glad Blizzard finally put some pets in there that Hunters have been asking for (aka they stopped neglecting that thread asking us what pets we'd like to see tameable).

I'm not sure. Because I have my ghostie already as well as a spirit beast I really click with I probably wouldn't camp him so crazy.... Buuuutttttt.... Nyx (My GTSG) could have a super-powered boyfriend! or puppy or something!
Nyx has been with me so long I feel I owe her something. I'm not on an rp-server but would serve as a little payback to advance
her story.
Then again, because I have a ghost wolf, I wouldn't feel right competing with those who don't. Hmmm, quandary... Maybe I'll retame Skoll (planning to anyway) for her pleasure and leave this lovely alone.
(Did i mention I was pissed that they stole my pretty girl's name for a big ugly bug? Bleh.)

I am curious...
Does anyone else feel like Wain works for Blizzard? I mean... really...
I have been flying all over the place on the beta and I never see anything new that hasn't already been seen before by WAIN.

That'd be far more fun than my real job. I live in Australia, so I'm not sure they'd have employees who aren't local. Plus, if I WAS a developer, it wouldn't be much fun finding and posting these things. In fact, I'd probably get in trouble for doing so, or something
At the very least I'd feel bad for creating them and then posting as though I found them before anyone else did.

I've run across a lot of new rares in beta. Unfortunately not one of them has been a new beast that we didn't know about yet. *spit* (But just on the floor - not on anyone.)
Then again,, I spend most of my time in low-level zones right now where a lot of the rares haven't changed (except sometimes in looks).

Everyone in beta, perhaps you haven't been finding rares like Wain,
because maybe you need to try to look for them like he does... "down under"

Yanno I meant to answer this myself. XD
I plan to not get this ghost wolf really. I already have 2 spirit beasts who I am very fond of (especially Heero, he is my pure questing/raiding buddy now). I don't picture myself spending time to get another skin of another family I already have two of. XD
Plus knowing me, I'd probably totally confuse the two. lol

It's a cool "compromise" Blizzard did. That's cool that they re-made this tameable. But sadly, yet another transparent "Spirit Beast". I agree with the people that non-transparent, unique Spirit Beasts. I don't care about.. "people" that some how don't understand what Exotics are. It's simple. And weird name for a "male" Spirit Beast. For rare pets, the 1st one I want is "Sambas".

as someone with a gtsg,im glad they FINALLY added another tamable.now my friends who missed out can get one (kind of),i can get one for my alts (eventually),and i dont have to worry so much about losing my wolf to a glitch...
