I was tasked with the brown sporebat:
Image

So out to Zangarmarsh Venjin flew and started her search for a sporewing. It didn't take too long to find one. And as soon as I tamed it I immediately saw...naughty things that were mentioned in the "Cannot Unsee" thread. (Thanks a lot Veph. =P)

Obligatory backside photo.
Image

My first instinct was to abandon it right away because I couldn't stop staring at...it. It's incredibly distracting and you can't stop staring at it because it just moves and waves around--unless of course, you don't see the naughty image and in your innocence can tolerate one of these guys. =P

For the sake of the challenge, I named him Peter and headed back out to Hyjal for some questing. The slow is a nice ability on casters, however, trying to make him cast it when you take it off auto-cast was nigh impossible before your standard mob dies (and by then has probably gotten a cast or two off) and could cause issues in PvP as well. I turned it back on auto-cast and he began to use it diligently.

Overall they're interesting looking little dudes (if you skip over the tail section). They're alienesque and have a nice, smooth flying animation. In my opinion, the brown color is a little drab, but they're fairly quiet pets for anyone who doesn't like anything too loud. As it is, I'm en route to Zangarmarsh as we speak to go return this guy back to his home as I cannot see myself owning one due to issues already mentioned. If I absolutely needed a pet to deal with spellcasters, I would go find another one to tame, although I'm sure these guys will get much love from someone else. :D

I'd like another please. ^_^

My task was the green Raptor
Image

These raptors are only found in the Wetlands. Good that I was allready in Ironforge.

Image

So I mounted my trusty Timelost and set course north.

Image

I found my target reather fast and went on to catpure him.

Image

At first I thought I won't keep him. But he doesn't look so bad so for now he's a keeper. Now I only need a name for him.

And now some more shots of him

The first meal:

And one of his first fights:

Until next time

But I'll take anything u r willing to give :)

I literally just started a little over a week ago... so a user friendly pet would be great =)

Update: 12/20/2010 - It's actually day 7 in Wow and I just hit level 47. I also added a few really cool pets to my collection. I have a white glowing Ghostpaw Alpha, a Shadowmaw Panther (love the fact he only becomes visible when he jumps into action), a pretty pink Deviate Plainstrider, a Brilliant Clayscraper (which is very brilliantly colored=)....) and an Ironbeak Owl that is fascinating to watch. I also got a spider but it creeps me out... lol...

At the rate my bf and I are going a pet 55+ sounds good LOL...

So I'd like to introduce you all to Snowfang, my blue wind serpent.
Image

And her new mate, Firewing. ^_^
Image

So, I've been using Snowfang and dragonhawks before so I didn't go do a huge report with Firewing. The magic debuff they provide is actually quite kickass for survival hunters, and of course, any casters in your group that don't already provide the debuff. They also do good damage as well making them very nice pets that pack a nice punch.

The colors on them are gorgeous and I really love the spiked models. I've really grown to love the goofy way they move through the air, and I also love the way they swim through the water.
Image

Their battle noises are also pretty tolerable as well. They make a little hissing like noise that isn't too loud or too quiet. Overall I really enjoy these guys as pets, after spending a long time thinking I'd hate them; they're a great all around pet, especially for survival hunters.

My new random pet challenge was a black raptor so I went to Un'Goro Crater to pick one up. To be honest though, it looks more brown than black but the model is pretty with beads and feathers attached to it and its animations are very lively. Their diet consist of meat and they belong to the ferocity-tree.

I specced into maximal dps and it sure does a lot of damage. It's special ability is a reduce armor that also raises my dps on the target so that's nice.

I brought it with me for some dailys and a random dungeon and I found it's a really good pet. I didn't really klick with him though so I released him back to the wild. I think it mainly was because the color was pretty dull but I think I will be picking up a more colorful one, they sure was a good dps pet!

I was tasked with the Black Mastiff
Image

...Ya, ugly thing. Never really been a fan mastiffs plus I already had my two runed demon dogs in red(Gytrash) and blue(Fenrir) who I both love dearly...But this was a challenge after all! So after a zeppelin ride to the Northend, our little hero set off!

Image

...SO AFTER a long drop from angering the dragon, our hero set off in style! Who needs to fly when you got big wheels!

Image

Hater's gonna be hating.

Aw ya! That's more like it! The ride was...Long...Playing I Spy was boring too as all there was, was snow. But in the distance rose a great building! So taking a pit stop our little hero had her picture taken with the Life Binder!

Image

Rex? What are you looking at- NO BAD DEVILSAUR! PUT DOWN CHROMIE! THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO PLAY 'EAT THE GNOME!'

After high-tailing it outta there the little blood elf headed east to her destination...And stopped to talk to the locals!

Image

It was only over th next hill that our target was found!

Image

The tame went off without a hitch...Then it was a matter of naming...Huh..now what....Oh I know!

Image

Go my minion! Bite your past owners! Bwuahahahhaa!

And the rest of the night was pretty uneventful. We did a dungeon and did some quest but nothing note worthy. My final thoughts? Still don't like em, I fear even time it shakes it's head drool is gonna fly everywhere. Will I keep Fleabag? Probably not. Again, I have Gytrash and Fenrir. My two hell hounds are my loves. I feel they look better too, even if they don't have swimming animations.

This was fun though! I'd love to do it again so...

I was tasked to find a bronze scorpid. No screenies cos I have yet to make an account somewhere ^^;
Anyhoo as a level 17 worgen Swiftrunner's only choice was to go to Durotar. Cue insanely long and boring trek from Darnassus. Okay it wasn't that bad, only about 40 minutes, but perhaps I should've waited for level 20. Not only to get Running Wild but also for the scorpid's ability "Clench". Regardless, off I loped and as soon as I hit Ashenvale the locals were very quick to explain why lowbies should stick to the path. Insert hasty Darkflight and minus half a health bar 5 times over. All worth it, I told myself. This is a challenge after all!
Then I reached the Mor'shan Ramparts. Many skull-levelled, PvP-flagged Horde guards stared at me as I approached. Stopping out of reach of them I began to wonder if this was such a good idea. I watched a few Night Elves throw themselves at the guards and I wondered if I could time it just so I could get through as they fought. I charged. The Night Elves sadly perished and my hide is probably now decorating the Crossroads inn.
I spirit ressed at the Barrens graveyard and continued my journey into the Orc homelands. I considered stopping off to check for Takk the Leaper, but immediately banished the thought for 2 reasons; I only had one pet slot until the next level and I didn't particularly fancy throwing myself to the lions Orcish guards a second and third time so I could put her (yes, her. I don't know many reptile families where the male guards the eggs :P) in the stables, and also I had ress sickness so she'd probably beat me to a furry pulp anyway.
Took one look at the bridge and decided it was best to swim. Cue crocs chewing my legs. But I had chosen a good spot to climb out at. Just a few paces away from losing the crocs' interest a beautifully shiny golden flash caught my eye. I was exhauseted and low on health but decided to chance it. It was worth it, Skorpio (unoriginal or what?) now clatters along quite happily behind Swift. Immediate hearth back to Lor'danel, rest up and we were set.
Despite Varethyn being the proud owner of Madexx I have never worked with a scorpid before. The first 3 levels weren't particularly interesting, although despite his lack of abilities Skorpio proved to be a handy back-up tank when our Wailing Caverns tank died due to disconnects. All in all I find it fun to be working with something new. We are now both level 20 and his clench ability has certainly helped out in. He is remarkably pretty with his shiny bronze carapace and I don't mind his chitters and screeches as he fights. I might just keep him, but give me a few levels and I might ask for a new challenge :D
