I'm still having problems with my Ms-Office, but I downloaded IrfanView, so it will be a few more pics in the report and no nice combinations of them, but well, has to work like this for me. Here's my report on
Twix, the blue raptor.
The blue raptor can be found almost everywhere in Azeroth. The first one comes with level 16 in front of the Wailing Caverns dungeon, the next one is in the dungeon. I decided to tame Tethis, the named raptor from Stranglethorn, he's level 28.
So one rainy evening Nerdanel set out to find a new pet for her stables.

She had to run quite a while until she finally found a blue raptor sticking out among the purple ones and tried to tame him. But he called his friend and 2 angry raptors were trying to eat Nerdanel and jumping with their talons at her.

She persuaded the blue one to follow her and he came with her. Nerdanel named her new friend Twix, to match her parrot Snickers.
Appearance:
This is Twix from the front: he looks sleek and quite intimidating (at least for me, with this grim expression).
Twix is of a nice blue colour and his belly is a creamy white. Like almost every raptor (except the green one) he has these collars around his neck and feathers and bandages on his legs. His blue ranges from a light blue over waterlike to a very nice dark blue on his head. If he would not have the feathers and collars, he would have immediately become my favourite raptor skin, because I prefer the non-spikey versions to the outland skins. With his colour he fits in nicely to Nerdanel's blue/white/purple stable theme. I would have never thought about this skin myself, waiting for the spikey one from Zul'Drak and finding the purple one too much "Barbie-like".
Animations and sounds:
I think that almos every one had to fight raptors once in his toon's wow-life, Twix makes these typical raptor-noises, something between a screeching with a sore throat and a loud hissing (can't really describe it, but it's the same sound wild raptors make while hitting you). His sounds didn't bother me, I actually think they are quite cute. While running I couldn't hear a thing of him.
His idling animation is to click his talons on the ground and to open his maw and close it. Not very spectacular.
His swimming animation:
I think Twix likes swimming. He makes himself quite flat and moves with raptile-like grace, pushing himself forward with his legs. Sadly I wasn't able to take a pic of that (the pond in Og was too small), the one I posted is from idling in the water.
Fighting:
I took Twix to Zul'Farrak with Nerdanel. He is a ferocity pet so he provides nice dps for her. His special ability is to reduce the enemy's armor by tearing it apart. It's an ability warriors have (and I think feral druids have something similar, but I'm not sure), but sometimes don't use, so it's nice to take your raptor with you, if your group is missing someone to reduce the armor, because less armor means dead faster. Twix and Nerdanel were on the first place in the dps-meter, although they were the lowest level in the group and I think that Twix helped a lot. He was eager to run into battle, attacking the mobs by jumping at them with his legs and claws. It was nice to watch him fight, it seems like he has a lot of fun doing it.
Conclusion:
Twix is a very good pet. I absolutely adore his colour, it's fantastic. He did very good in the dungeon and was nice to look at. I don't see many raptors since their ability was changed (they used to add bleeding damage instead of reducing the armor) and I personally think I would like to have the old ability back (same thing with cats for me). But there is no point in wishing back the good old times.
Although I really came to appreciate Twix, I didn't really click with him. I haven't found "the" pet for Nerdanel yet and sadly Twix wasn't it. I love my parrot Snickers, but he's not the pet, too. I'm waiting for the purple cats from Winterspring. I wish Twix had no feathers, perhaps it would be better. I loved the green raptor, but he's not meant for her stable theme. I don't know if I keep Twix until Nerda reaches the level to tame a raptor from Zul'Drak or if I'll let him go.
edit:
I'd like to have a new roll, this time for my Alliance Hunter.

Exotics: no
