I'm very disappointed in my country right now..Just because a hockey team does not win the Stanley Cup, does not justify the actions of people that followed after the loose..I thought this Country was better then that...

I to am very disapointed with the actions of those people. They do NOT represent Canada in any way shape or form and their actions are NOT condoned by any respectable citizen of our great and wonderful country.
Everyone should be celibrating that we made it to the very last game, something our team has not done for a very very very long time, if ever!

Problem is, they most likely would have done it even if we HAD won. They're idiots who got drunk, nothing more than that. People should stop saying "It's a bad way to represent our country!", cause, well, no matter where you are, there's gonna be idiots that do this sort of thing. No big problem with people showing it, since they're just making dumbasses of themselves.

Though I must say I do agree that those people were idiots. I swear, I was going "THAT CAR BETTER BLOW UP AND TEACH THOSE MORONS A LESSON!". Seriously. I was literally cackling about how I wanted the car to explode in those idiots' faces XD

Also, saying that you thought the country was better than this.. I find that very closed-minded. I may be Canadian myself, but I very well agree that there's almost as many idiots in Canada than there are in the US. Being from a certain country doesn't make you immune to being an idiot. That's just not the way things work. People will be idiots and do retarded things no matter WHAT.


And please don't go "Well I have a right to complain, it's the rant thread! So stop replying to me!". I'm not attacking anyone, I'm replying to the subject. Besides, technically I'm ranting myself. I'm ranting about the people who say things like "Canada is better than that!", because, well.. We aren't. We aren't any less stupid than any other country, and believing that we are just goes to show that what I'm saying is true.

Yes, I realize that. I'm surrounded by it due to living in the US for the last 6-7 years. But I'm not even referring to what Americans think. It's what the Canadians are saying - that Canada is better than to have idiots - that I'm fed up with. I couldn't care LESS what Americans think.. I've dealt with the hate and jokes about Canadians so much I've just learned to ignore it all. It's that Canadians THEMSELVES are thinking so arrogantly that bugs me. I guess it's a little hypocritical for me to get so annoyed by it considering I keep saying that there's just as many idiots there than in any other place, but at least I'm not being closed-minded and denying that there's actually idiots and believing that "we're better than that".

People making issues out of non-issues everywhere. Not even here, just...everywhere. Irl, Internet, at Walmart, everywhere.

Also, I'm hungry. We still don't have a lot in the way of food. Have to go apply at a bunch of places again today and beg for commissions. Siiigh.

Sorry, but I don't see how what's so ironic about any of that. Saying there's just as many idiots in Canada as there are in the US is perfectly reasonable. Canada and the US probably have around the same amount of idiots as everywhere else in the world! I'm not singling out Americans or anything like that, only using it as an example, which works well due to how many people compare the two countries. Perhaps my wording made it sound like I was, but I wasn't, I can assure you. No matter where you are, there's going to be idiots, so, there you go.

Actually go back and read your post - if you'd said there's just as many idiots in Canada as there are in the US, it would have been perfectly reasonable... problem is, that's not what you said:

Ever heard of a thing called bad wording? I admit, I probably shouldn't have put the almost in there, but it was in the spur of the moment and I forgot about it. It was hardly an intentional jab at the US, just a slight bad choice of words. It's not exactly an uncommon thing to happen, people do it all the time. I suggest you try not to get so worked up over a very slight mistake. As mentioned before, it was not an attack on anyone, so it's probably best to not get so up in arms over it.


*Edit* Besides, almost doesn't mean 100 to 20000. It could very well mean 100 to 101. It's not a big deal really, just an estimate, guess, whatever you wanna call it. Besides, almost as many could very well mean Canada has more idiots than the US.

Actually, considering that Canada has a tenth the population of the US, saying they have almost as many idiots is rather unflattering to Canada.
