Just because some people ignore it doesn't mean we're all selfish rude assholes.
I dislike this absurd amount of hostility over something so simple. I've seen people get many of their dream dragons this way. :/

Bowing out of this conversation now because its obvious it wont go anywhere.

See peopel would ignore that too seeing as FR people are dumb as all hell. That is what the AH is for. Don't give me that lame ass excuse of "ohh but I can't search for a colour"
Good excuse is good!
If I am looking for a certain range, I use the search instead of spending hours sifting through tons of babies on the AH. It is faster to use search and do some research on where the dragon is currently located, who owned it, and if it looks like the owner might be willing to sell than going through the AH.

As for the second thing. ;P I challenge this! As we speak, I am setting up a "NOT UFT/UFA" banner for people to use if they want :3 If people use them, I'll come back and attempt to ask them if they have received any mails after they put up the banner. It'll be a fun experiment! :D

I'm not being hostle. Please don't assume things. Sorry for finding it rude to message someone asking if a dragon is for sale or not.

Meh. I use the search. I message the owners about unnamed dragons from their own flights. I've not yet had a negative response.

If it really bothers you, block and ignore whoever sends you a letter. Preemptively block me, too; I inquire about dragons almost daily!

Yeah, I use search to find dragons all the time- I got my most recent WC that way, and the owner was more than pleased because it meant she had a buyer the day the thing hatched! If it really bothers you, just add "not for sale" in the info box. Or ignore the letters- that works too!

It's really just one of the best ways to find a specific dragon. The AH is flooded and I don't really want to wade through all the male Ridgebacks, then all the male Spirals, then all the male PCs, then all the male insertbreedhere-s to find a dragon that probably isn't even listed. Plus, with the search function, you know if the dragon you like is on AH and you can then locate it or message the owner to put it on hold.

That's pretty much why the search function exists, I think. O.o

I see no harm in asking, honestly.
If the dragons in question aren't up for adoption or trade, just kindly send the person away with a "no". Obviously it seems a bit more dickish if they do it with dragons that are named but really I would ask about unnamed dragons, I've just never actually had the reason to ask anyone because I usually never have any treasure and probably wouldn't be able to buy said dragon even if I did ask.

There's no harm in just sending people away with a polite "no" or putting something on the clan page/dragon page.

I suppose I can see how it might irritate some, but I've been messaged even about my named dragons and it's never bothered me. If I tell someone I'm unwilling to sell a particular dragon and they keep pushing for it, that annoys me, but otherwise, I find it flattering! Yay, someone liked one of my babies. <3

Besides, I tend to take it as a compliment. It means my dragon was so beautiful and desirable to someone that they felt the need to actually contact me directly.

I've contacted a few people, some with positive results, others with less luck, but I have always had fun conversations with those people. They are rightly proud of their dragons, and as I am trying to buy it, I obviously appreciate the beauty equally. And even those who didn't wish to sell their dragon always offered me first pick of a hatchling if it should come out in the same colours as the parent. So win-win, really. :)

Admittedly, I also only ever contact people about unnamed dragons!

I guess we are all different. I just find it a rude thing to do that's all *shrug* More so if they complain that I don't reply to their message. Wish people would get that hint XD

I can find people contacting me about my dragons annoying at times but at the same time I too find it kind of flattering since it means I have something really nice that others like as well.

if someone hadn't contacted me asking about one of my dragons I wouldn't have this guy.

if it's a dragon I intend to keep I just message back politely telling them he/she is not for sale.

So made this message I think it's fair and simple to understand. "My dragons are not for sale. If they where I will put them on the AH. If you ignore this message and message me I'll ignore your message in return" Quite frankly if you can't understand that well that's sad.

No love for my brown-eyed scalies :-/

I'm sorry I don't think it's rude to ask about someone's dragon that you found via the search feature. I do not have the time nor desire to sift through literally hundreds of AH pages to try and find what I'm looking for. If I ever had someone inquire about one of my dragons, I would politely say it's not for sale but then be kind and offer them first pick of the babies should that pair make a clone. A little politeness and kindness in this community goes a long way, but to each their own I guess.

To each their own indeed. I mean I think it's polite not to ask in the first place XD

I really freakin' wish adding a dragon (whether from a purchase or a hatching) didn't utterly and completely screw up your lair.

Every time I add dragons by any means, I have to go and spend like five minutes straightening out my lair again. Where is the damn sense in this. Can't they just set it up so that new dragons appear 'at the end of the list'? How hard would that be really? Greh.

God this annoys me and my girlfriend so much; I have no clue why I'm so anal about my lair order but frick does this particular thing the hatchlings do annoy me
I mean like the Crossroads traded dragons get sent to the back of the lair but everything else is just like "lol nope"
