Congrats all on your wonderful tames. I got Kirix and Skarr a few day ago but my hunt for Deth has been horrible. I had him stolen twice so i decided to be the helpful one and help a few get him for themselves. After my friends had him I went for the camp and today paid off he finally spawned for me so i grabbed to friends and on went the lovely kite game. Finally as he started getting low an Orc shows up and starts going at him hard so our first thought was he's gonna grab the tame for himself. WRONG all of a sudden my friend says oh no he's gonna kill him and sure enough next thing i know my sweet spider was dead all while the Orc is cheering. I have never been so mad and heartbroken over a rare before and I almost threw my laptop in the floor. I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Xscape and Boernegar for the help on this try today guess i will call it quits for now and be happy with my 2. Deth will be mine one of these days but not very soon.

Congrats to you too on your tames! But it's a shame about Deth'tilac. I'm afraid this early on in the patch, things like that will happen.

But it's no use beating yourself up about it. Brush it off like it was nothing and come back in a few days/weeks and try again. Soon you'll find there are less people around to care about stealing a tame or killing Deth'tilac, so she will be yours eventually. I know how it feels though. Had Deth stolen from me once before, never bothered looking for her again after that since I prefer Kirix anyways. But good luck and happy hunting!

I've also found and tamed Karkin (purely by "accident" as I was hunting Skarr). Next, I'll probably start running around naked in the Regrowth.

Congrats on all your tames, guys! I love seeing the stories behind the names. Kudos to those who are naming pets after the Harry Potter series, I can't believe it's ending, too (for now, there's always Pottermore).

Today after giving up battlegrounds due to too high frustration, I decided to do some screenies with Findu and her Banny and Skarr. Inspired by Veph I looked in my bank to find two nice dresses matching my new pets. See the results of my first "match your pet and background-screens":

They really could be. I don't know of any female Blood Elf hunters off my realm that like to dress up to match with their pets.

Galladon looks like crabzilla in that photo, but its a pretty awesome pic of my gorgeous gem crab. Still, Cyric (black and purple flame spider) takes the cake as my favorite, with Loki (green and black flame spider) coming in a close second. I love the color schemes of these spiders. I saw green and was like "OMG I HAVE TO HAVE HIM RIGHT NOW!"

Banny is mine YAY!! and I just really started camping her last night..went to bed..woke up WOW is down..wait..login been camping since about 1 something I guess whenever the servers came back..was sitting up in that famous tree..praying to the WOW Gods that I wouldn't fall.

I was tabbed out watching some Youtube vids, suddenly I tab back in look around and silverdragon goes BOOOOP!..I shut Npcscan off because of too many hunters taking out there Bannys on top of me..and flying away..HAHA real funny!..anyways it's Banny and hes flying right towards me..OMG..I start shaking..I set down my freezing trap..mount up...spacebar myself straight up..shoot at Banny (pray) dismount..(more praying) YAY landed back on the tree..Banny hit me a bit (ouch)..but she lands safely in my freezing trap..I start to tame..(even more praying) Hurry hurry I say in my head..phew! done!...but wait wheres the owl?? ..did someone else tame her in my freezing trap?..did she get away?..am I dreaming??? what's going on?!..ok wait I say to myself let me check call pets..ok I had four pets with me when I started..YES! I have five now..hello lovely..Banny you sweet little owl you are mine!! HOORAY!

I'm so proud of myself..you see I didn't think I would be able to get Banny I tried so hard in the PTR and failed every time even in live I failed a lot ..I was like do I really want this owl?..but my BF and a good WOW friend encouraged me and I thought well today is the day!

So thank you for all your encouragement again my friend! ..and BF ..You guys rock!

Today after the update, i got on and did a couple bgs, waited a while for Deth'tilac to show up, few minutes after camping, another hunter showed up... After conversing about our rare pets we tamed, about an hour after camping deth'tilac showed up while the other hunter was AFK... so i tagged him and started kiting, and all of the sudden about 5 hunters, a mage, and a horde DK show up... i lost aggro after sacrficing my pet many times, to a mage. Aparrently the mage was trying to hold aggro until his guildy showed up which was annoying all of us hunters who were there and ready, we got deth'tilac to 10% health, and i started spamming tame... the deathknight killed me and i almost had a heart attack, ran back, rezzed, and nobody had tamed yet... so i finally started spamming kill shots, and chimera, luckily they all crit so i had the beasts attention, and i immediately started taming... i got him

SKARR!!!!

After a long evening of waiting with other Horde hunters -- one by one they dropped out, having to go to bed -- so I was just there on my own, left it in the background while I did some coding, and then BLARE from NPCscan and he was right in front of me!!!!!

Alliance hunter I'd camped with before and been friendly with came up shortly after and we got a group portrait with two Skarrs!

I named him Jorin after Jame's mind-linked hunting cat in P.C. Hodgell's Kencyrath series.
