Awww, I absolutely hate reserved names. >.< I hope it works out for you!!

Yeah, I often forget about the reserved ones since most of the names I choose don't fall under that category. It's really terrible when one hits you by surprise after you decide it's the perfect name.

Oh well...the accent actually isn't bugging me terribly, it looks alright, and to my (very limited) knowledge, I don't think that particular â changes the pronunciation in a hugely drastic way. I know some accented characters have a completely different sound from the base letter which looks terrible to anyone who knows how to say them correctly.

Anyways, I think I'll be able tolerate it.

I think it looks fine, Veph. Sometimes a name just sticks to a particular pet and no other name or different spelling will work. I have Dulcinea's name accented with two pretty dots above the i. It looks really pretty and cute to me. It's kind of her signature.

The only thing is I thought in a fairly recent patch on live they did away with being able to add accents to names. Or was that just character names?

I know what you mean, Veph, I don't like using accents either. However, if he is destined to be named Khan, then I think using that little thingy above the "a" is an acceptable compromise. I don't think it looks bad or anything. I wonder why "Khan" is reserved? Weird. But then "Jade" is reserved, too, and that doesn't make any sense to me either.

*nodnod* I am decidedly more bitter against reserved names now that I've run into one I need to use. Not that I didn't think they were silly from the start, but I never expected to encounter one myself.

I keep waffling between thinking the accent looks fine to being unable to look away from it and having it bug me. I have plenty of time to get used to it though or try to think of another compromise.

Anyways! Thanks for letting me ramble about it guys, I always have to talk out loud for those types of decisions. x_x


As a side note and to bring back some turtle discussion, I figured I may as well share my future plans for Iggy (aka Igneous, my Terrorpene).

I decided he would change into the red dragon turtle after fabricating myself a sort of head-canon for his transformation. The way I see it is that Iggy is primarily an elemental creature, and has close ties to earth and fire. During the chaos of the Cataclysm, Azeroth was wounded and broken, and many elemental beings were disrupted due to it. Iggy's flames were tied to this havoc, but when Mists of Pandaria comes out and the world has had a chance to heal and regrow after Deathwing's destruction, not to mention the death of the Firelord, Igneous's body would mimic the calming of the earth. His raging fires would slowly simmer down, and the lava of his shell would begin to cool and reform into a new shape.

And that is how I shall justify turning my Igneous into a dragon turtle.

That totally makes sense to me, especially with the dragon turtle you have picked out. The shell definitely resembles cooled lava to me, and the body is still red like Terrorpene's (it's mostly black, but it does have a hint of red, too).

I love RP'ing stuff like that. :3 And it's always fun to read the stories that other people create for their beloved pets.

Out of interest, can anyone tell me if their tamed dragon turtle, or any of the wild ones, still use the model with the spikier rim and the fins on head/tail/etc.?

All the ones I've seen so far now use the regular dragon turtle model, which lacks those. I'm interested to know if any of the npcs use the "elite" model, which they all did originally.

I've checked all of the ones that I know of, they all lack fins and spikes.

Pretty much what I expected then. I hope they'll at least use the elite model for rares and named ones and we see all colours in by launch
