People still kill Takk for two reasons - one, to harrass the hunter taming it, and two, because they're not aware that he doesn't drop his minipet anymore.
The amount of people who warned me (Tencents) off of killing Dart is amazing. There are still people completely clueless about the alteration Blizzard made...

I agree except... the hunter had already tagged the blasted thing!! Even if he DID drop the damn minipet, the HUNTER would get it, not the warrior. /rage against tame-killers. D:

I'm enjoying looking at all of these! I have quite a few I think (screenshot every rare I see, before death and after if I kill it).

You know what's great about me starting a hunter, and joining these forums? It's changed the way I see rare spawns! Now if I see a tamable rare I don't want myself, I advertise for people if they would like to tame. If no one responds after a few asks, I'll either kill the mob or leave it alone depending on how rare they are.

Before I used to run up and destroy the poor things, just to say I found and killed a rare. I'm much happier in my new found ways

I've found a few rares in the last couple days, including Krush (tamed), Skoll (helped another hunter tame) and now this--which well, I'm not a huge fan of the model but I love the skin. I left it at first but hey, 6 minutes to server shutdown and 2 hunters online (one not BM, one who had him already)...

Well, I tamed it to play with for awhile. I actually wasn't going to. I'll go back to my tanky bear before Cata, just in case they're removed, but I want to see this kitty in various lights first Who knows, maybe we'll click?

theres only one rare pet I will ever kill and thats that blasted red vulture from The Badlands..how I hate that bird.

I did the same thing, m'dear. Hubby found him on a whim but didn't have BM, so I decided to tame him. I had him for about a month and liked him, but didn't love him. I abandoned him for Gondria, and after a few days realized the err of my ways. I begged a GM to restore him and they did!!! So, yeah, not letting him go again. Make sure you really, really don't like the pet before releasing it. I really thought I wouldn't miss Dante but I found my heart aching every time I saw him by someone else's side in Dalaran. But we're reunited now, so it's all good. :3

I know, wouldn't that just be awesome? I'd totally name him Kingpin too, such a perfect name for him.

Saw this one over the weekend. I already had him so I found another hunter who wanted to tame him. It made him so happy that he named his new spirit beast after my toon.
