Yeah but if the imps are double gened none of us will ever be able to buy one

hehe if I go wildclaw/imp wildclaw/imp they likely won't be :) it's only if I breed the two imps that has 100% chance of beeing double gened.

Most of us aren't likely to afford imps anyway since most of us have troubles saving up treasure. :P It'd almost be a shame not to get double gened babies out of two pretty imps but it's totally your call. One of these days I'll be able to afford one. *eyes the imp section of the AH longingly*

I'll probably decide for sure tomorrow, the wildclaws together could be quite pretty as well

Personally, I'd breed each imp to a wildclaw, now that i've looked at the colors again. Chandra and Jinn would make some gorgeous babies, and I suspect that if you didn't want to keep them all, you'd have better luck selling possibly gened but definitely gorgeous wildclaws and imps. Plus that way there's a bigger chance at more of each dragon, because you'd have a mix of hatchlings each time.

Well, really, I just like mixed clutches. xD But yes, I'd say breed each imp to a wildclaw.

The only way to get guaranteed wildclaws is to breed them to each other. ;) Because they're considered the rarest breed with the longest breeding CD, it is extremely unlikely to get one when breeding it to another rare; that's why most people like to breed imps to wildclaws, it yields the highest chance of getting a 5 imp nest (since imp on imp maxes at 4). Not to mention, without the wildclaws being gened, the likelihood of gened babies is even less likely.

Not that I'm opposed to her breeding her dragons however she likes, that's just info worth pointing out. :)

I don't care about genes myself, it only means people can add the genes they like themselves without having to invest in removal scrolls or find a dragon with the right colors but the wrong gene sets.
and basic imps still go for 500 600k

Right, I understand. :) After looking at imps myself on the AH I figure I'll probably personally end up searching for an ungened one myself to add genes to since the likelihood of finding one with the genesets I like in the colors I like is slim to none and way out of reach of my pocket book.

Since you don't care about genes, I personally would breed each imp to their respective wildclaw just so you have a better chance at more imps to sell and get more money that way. :) I know I would certainly consider actually buying one of your plain hatchlings if it results in colors I'm looking for on an imp.

Cap and Doro should produce dark primaries with wings ranging from white/maize to black. chance of pink/magenta tert but that only matters if you are intending to add gembound or circut, and even magenta could look good against dark primary and secondaries.

the other pairing will be whites, greys, greens and purple shades mostly

Depending on how they come out, I think I'll have to try and get one of your imps.

I'd try to maximize the imperial hatchlings, if only because there needs to be more imps to bring down the cost so that more can enjoy them.

While the site's been down I've been looking over my current breeding pairs. While I'm largely happy with most of them I'm willing to offer my prog, Varenaxx, for breeding.

He and Rose have been good with their offspring so far but the high likelihood of pink is no longer appealing to me  I'm sure there's at least one person who'd be interested once the site comes back up ;)

Should the site ever make it back up, I have this girl available right now to breed:
Teal/Thistle/Blood

And I'm not sure what the exact CD on this gal is now that they've gone and screwed those up; it says 3 days now and I think it would have been about 5 before the glitch:

Oh gosh-- may as well give this a go! I don't do reserves, but-...I'm admittedly looking for temporary mates for a few of my dragons; they're all (mostly) paired to WCs-- which leaves enough time for a breeding session before their partners pop off cooldown. Would love a double-gened common as a partner, but anything's up for consideration!

Will copy-paste the information from the thread for ease of reading; hope it's not too spammy!
  • I really, really prefer the breeding to take place in my (plague) lair-- my friend was recently conned out of a dragon (she traded hers over, received a basic dragon as collateral and they kept her pealcatcher). I'd of course offer collateral if necessary (usually in the form of a breed change scroll). However, I'm willing to offer skype details, additional contact information and am happy to livestream the breeding. All nests will be booned and you'll get your dragon and designated hatchling(s) back ASAP. (I'm also willing to point you towards the many, many people I've studded with previously if you're unsure; I always muddle up breeding times!)
  • Whoever provides the boon gets first pick! I have enough boons for all of them, but you're welcome to supply one if you want to choose first.
If they produce one egg, we can frown ominously from behind our respective keyboards and muddle forth a solution. It'll likely be selling the baby and giving an extra 30k of the share to the boon-provider!
  • Two eggs: Perfect scenario! One each.
  • Three eggs: One each. Sell the remaining dragon and split the profits evenly!
  • Four eggs: Two each, or keep two and sell the other two.
  • Five eggs: Cry hysterically with happiness.
They'll all be off cooldown when the site returns!

The dragons:

Gerodos! I have a clown gened dragon that I'll be breeding to my Rhayde when the site comes back up, and be switching the two from there on. Soooo, lovely Gerodos here is looking for a partner when the site is back. No sense in wasting the breeding cooldown of a gened dragon!
