I like to think that the leaders all wouldn't be okay with this and that there's just not a proper reaction yet, but I'm starting to doubt that Blizzard would miss out something as major as one of the leaders speaking out against Sylvanas.
yeah I agree with this. Goes with the Vol jin's prophecy that she'll unite the horde...just not how you think. She'll unite them against her and an actual warchief (probably Surafang at this point) will emerge at the end of the xpac. I think this'll be the horde civil war ed. (although we kinda had that with Garrosh in the end) but just my guess.
I dunno we've already been down the civil war path. I wouldn't want a Garrosh 2.0 that would be boring (unless it was an Alliance version that is)

Blizz will just continue to put important lore in other media and not in the game it's self and I'm sure that's where a leader will speak out against her and just like most people I'll be lost as to what is going on because you could not even pay me to read those books. I just can't stand the writing in them.

From what they were saying on Wowhead, it sounds like those stories may end up being released to read for free eventually. But for now they are just a bonus for the people who buy the collector's edition.

I will say this about the written stories. BtS took me about half a day to read (with frequent breaks to play WoW or do stuff at home), which made me glad that I got the ebook from the library rather than having actually purchased it.

Neat seeing the troll from the BTA trailer in it.

Aye. It doesn't change anything, but it is a cool cinematic.

An article on my news feed caught my eye: https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment ... spartandhp

Someone's apparently been reading the forums and/or this thread.

I loved that. Saurfang is a great character :)

So that new cinematic (Old Soldier) got me right in the feels. I wonder if Saurfang is being set up as the next Warchief. I feel bad for the Horde being stuck on a Warchief carousel though.

He should at least be the official racial Orc leader.

As much as I love Sylvanas, she's not suited for the mantle of warchief as the Horde should stand. Saurfang makes a much better option and, considering they animated his cinematic over Sylvanas' Warbringer short and showed more of a reaction from Sylvanas about the burning than her own cinematic did, it does make me wonder. Is it intentional on their behalf to have only shown general indifference/consent in the Warbringer short and in-game? This whole 'you only see half the story' thing is an interesting concept, but it's greatly flawed, as well.

Also, 10/10 for Zappy Boi, I'm very proud of him for making it into such a beautiful cinematic.

Bit of a side topic, but it got me thinking... if one of the factions had been planned as truly evil from the start, would you have played it? Would you enjoy playing a character that was a true villain? :)

It would certainly be interesting, and I can see how it could be fun, but I'm not sure it would be for me.

Love Zappy Boi. So good. So pure. Hope to see him again. Go live a good long life Zappy boi.

Glad it showed Saurfang's reaction a bit since hes being the most rational character at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if hes going to be the next warchief- I would certainly support it. Although i am dead tired of Horde's "Warchief of the Week" problem. They have been swapping out leaders almost every xpack since Thrall stepped down. =/

I find it curious that Saurfang got a six min long trailer-quality computer animated vid while the Banshee Queen got something far less extravagant. (still like the art style for hers though.) Obvious this changes nothing for me to lessen my annoyance with the poor writing but it was a nice cinematic.

If I had to guess I'd say it was because they'd already done a lot of the work for the BfA cinematic trailer and the assets were already there, so it was easier and less costly than it would be normally. It seems as though Saurfang will be a key a player in this expansion, so maybe they always intended for him to have a cinematic. I also wonder if this is a trailer that was created to be shown before the siege of Undercity but they released it early because of fan unrest after Teldrassil.

There is a good chance that the Alliance will also get one; probably one revolved around Genn and Anduin since they have the assets for them already. The Horde sees the Saurfang cinematic and the Alliance sees a different one.

Oh, that would be cool. I hope we get to see another one yet. The cinematic team never fail to do amazing work :)

If the Horde was portrayed as evil from the start then I think I would probably still play them - given there was justification for their actions. I'm someone who likes to play characters that aren't too similar to myself because it means I can explore ideas and concepts that I definitely can't explore irl. I would probably be somewhat lenient (think chaotic good/neutral as opposed to chaotic evil) as to not play a character as extreme as one particular Banshee Queen we know and love, but still have that moral ambiguity in places that leans itself to a more interesting character imo.

This is obviously from an RP standpoint, so make of that what you will. The Horde being morally ambiguous in places is an attractive feature (personally), and as long as there was some reasoning then I'd be fine with it. Even is the Horde was purely evil, I might still be inclined to play the faction regardless. Exploring that aspect of things interests me a lot more than playing a character who is always on the right side of everything and fights for a just cause with no doubt about it at all.

Also because Blood Elves

Short answer, yes.

Long answer. That is where all the fun of moral ambiguity comes in. Once you get into motivations for ones actions, there can be rationality for evil acts, or we find that a perception of what is good and what is evil, isn't as cut and dried as we think it might be. Besides, if Hollywood has ever shown us anything it's that the evil villains tend to be more interesting than the bland heroes :)

It depends on what the Horde would be doing since Vanilla. If it is what we've seen in recent days, then no, I wouldn't play them.

What if it was the morally dark period for the Alliance?
