SO today the 31st of July 21 years ago my mum was in alot of pain and I poped out! Yes it's my 21st birthday today on this lovely sunday!

Turning 21 is a big thing here in NZ It means you are now an adult. I have allready had 2 partys for my bday one with my mates a few weeks back got really drunk did my yard glass did all the traditional things and now theres photos on facebook of my mate spoonying my comaed out body XD.

and last night I had my family party with a nice cake and alot of family. Even had my uncle and aunty and cousen come up from down south just for it!

I got this very nice scanner for my bday. Its huge! It's a photocopyer,scanner and printer AND has a feeder for the scanner so I can scan a whole scene of animation so I can animate at home!.

So today I just plan on relaxing with a nice cup of tea maybe a few beers no wait not maybe I WILL have a few beers lol.

Oh. Well.

I guess it's my birthday now, isn't it? Silly thing snuck up on me while I was on tumblr, making sad people feel better. I seem to do that a lot on every site I'm on, don't I?

Anyway. Nineteen years old. Not really an important birthday, is it? Whatever.

Well, people seem to talk about presents a lot in this thread, so I guess I'll tell you what I've got.

Nada.

Oh, it's not on purpose. My mom and sister wanted to get me things, but two different emergencies made it so money is tight for the first time in a long time and we just can't afford anything. The first emergency would be that my computer killed itself about two months ago. Now, going back up to college without my own computer wouldn't have been a good idea at all, so my mom bought me a new computer a month ago. Close enough to my birthday that it kills some birthday money.

Then my dog got sick. She gets to come home today, which is fantastic and means that she will be my birthday present for the second time. I got her nine years ago to the day. But her being sick has cost us somewhere around 6k dollars, mostly because she didn't really recover form her surgery perfectly. I blame the vet's, even though I'm sure it's not their fault.

I was scared for almost a week over her, though. I broke down all the time and, when I wasn't crying, was just... empty. I suppose I was depressed. I threw myself into this site and doing the little I can to police it to keep that emptiness just a little further away. Offline, I didn't talk much. I was always angry or sad or just empty. I tried to smile at the lady who gave me my starbucks and she looked like she thought I was going to kill her.

And I almost lost Taffy in the surgery. You know, a year before I got Taffy, we were supposed to get this other dog, who I'd named Sapphire. We were gonna call her Saph. Well, she had heart murmurs. I head heart murmurs as a kid, too, so I was even more excited to get this dog because we'd already have something in common. She went into surgery, she didn't come out.

So you can imagine my reaction when the vet told me they'd almost lost my dog. Somehow, I've managed to not cry when I'm on the phone. I don't break down until afterwards. But break down I did. I've been doing that a lot lately.

Anyway, Taffy coming home is a fantastic birthday present. And J.K. ROWLING HERSELF got me a present: early access to Pottermore. And my best friend is got me Pokemon White, even though I already have Pokemon Black.

So why do I feel upset that all I'm getting from my family are cards? Idek, I don't have a right to be upset over this at all. But I am, a little.

ANYWAY, YAY BIRTHDAY. IGNORE THIS SAD, RANT FILLED POST.

Feeling upset isn't always amenable to logic, is it? And it's quite OK to be mad at the situations / fate that meant that all you're getting for your birthday is the restoration of the status quo; working computer, living dog. Even though you know your family had to spend that money on those things instead of something new, it still hurts a bit.

Hurray, me.

Now if only I hadn't had such a crummy night of sleep.

I didnt know there was a birthday thread xP welp, I turned 20 on Nov 7th :3 Start school tomorrow (Nov 10th)

So today, Nov. 16 is my birthday, and I just got back from my birthday dinner, and got some awesome things like a new scarf and a Tea Rex (a T-rex tea dispenser), and a new wacom bamboo tablet and How to Train Your Dragon on Blue Ray! So yay!
