Maybe Blizzard's trying to keep it as a surprise for when they actually release 4.1 so they don't want it to get leaked.

Just to clarify: skepticism is not directed at the people who posted about the second MMO appearance of the information! The rest of us just missed it, so we weren't 100% sure what you were responding to. And thank you all for verifying/clarifying!

Looks like we're going to have to be even more specific when it comes to hydra news, especially this is the second time information's disappeared from MMO.

Haha, that's fine, I didn't take it in the wrong way or anything, being a scientist and all I know you need evidence to back up your claims, it's just weird when your evidence disappears into thin air!

I don't think so much that it's a surprise as it likely is more that they're still hashing out family skills for them and don't want to be held to anything quiiite yet. They may still be debating which talent tree they'll take, too. With so much undecided and unknown about hydras right now, it probably is better to remove the information until they have a more complete picture of what they'll be like as tamable pets to share with us.

huh.that raw meat/raw fish diet thing was also present on some pets (like crocs) years ago.i dont think it actually did anything but let them eat weird grey items.it was changed after a while to just meat/fish and they couldnt be fed the greys after that.

Oona.have you tried looking at them while beast master speced? i doubt it would change anything.but test realms can be weird sometimes...

I took some pictures of Hydras on the PTR as my BM Hunter



Nope...I've also got some of the quest hydra in Zangamarsh, a regular outlands hydra, and a hydra outside of Blackfathom Depths. No change to any of them.

Strangely, the Hydras had all vanished from around Blackfathom depths when I took a look this morning during live realm's maintenance

I caught it before they removed it from there site as well.

Ok.. if DKS can have battle rezes, I dont see why we cant have hydras or.. other pets
nothing makes sense at all in blizzard so.. id like that talbulk please and thank you.

I'm afraid I simply don't know if they'll become tameable or not. I had hoped to have a definitive answer so I could prevent people getting their hopes up even further if it wasn't going to happen, but I really don't have any info. If the diet and hydra icon are still present in the most recent patch, perhaps it's a good sign they're intending to, or at least still debating it.

Oona, I noticed your stable UI actually said "Level 82 Hydra". Did it always say that, or had it previously said "crocolisk"? (I thought they were technically classified as crocolisks. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I've never actually seen the "owner" side of a tamed hydra >_<)

If you read through the thread, Maq, on the PTR currently tamed hydralisks are being shown as their own Hydra family.
