That's bullshit, Cowmu. I'm sure your Swedish is good enough, you really don't need much. Also: Pretty much every Swede you encounter will speak pretty good English. If you meet one who doesn't understand you just keep talking and someone who speaks English will come by. Not letting you go for not speaking Swedish is bullshit.
Private lessons by me? :P

Haha yeah I would ask you but I have no mic or anything XD
I have a feeling they used the "not being good at swedish" as a cover for something else *shifty eyes*

That wouldn't help much, as I don't have a mic either. But I guess we could PM in Swedish, or something?

That friggin blows that they won't let you go to Sweden Cow.
On a different note: At my work we have little donation boxes at every register. Normally it's so people can donate loose change and stuff to homeless children in the local area. Since the tsunami and earthquake in Japan, they changed them to be donations for Japanese relief. These things are bloody full--there was even a $20 bill in one--which I've never seen before. I find this weird, and I'd like to start off by saying that I don't think we shouldn't be trying to help out Japan; I think it's great people want to help them.
What kind of had me thinking between yesterday and today was: Why are we (Americans) so eager to help out other countries are in need, but when it comes to those who could really use our help in our own country, we tend to turn more of a blind eye? Is it because outlets like the media make us look like the bad guy if we don't help other countries?*
*Disclaimer--all of the above is speculation on my part and just what I noticed at my grocery store. It is in no way to be offensive or to suggest that we shouldn't donate money at all.

Not sure if you were joking or not, but that may actually work. Just need to figure out the needed shortcuts for typing in letters not found on your typical QWERTY keyboard.

Eh, what I find especially tragic is that the aid dollars aren't doing as much as they could, due to high radiation levels from that nuclear power plant crisis. The area around the power plant is clearly going to be in need of help (the damage was too much for failsafe systems at a nuclear facility, after all), moreso due to radiation exposure, but nobody's going to enter that area until their Geiger counters stop sounding like static noise from a TV or radio. Also, ships that are currently off the coast of Japan to aid the relief effort are being forced to back off as well due to unsafe radiation levels.

That I have never ever felt snow before >:( I mean it snows in the south island every winter and what do we get here in the north island? Cold cold rain. Just tones of the stuff.

The closet you can get to real snow is the leftover ice shavings from a indoor ice rink. It looks like snow and feels like the real deal as well.

Ice dust is not even close to real snow. The soft, almost wet kind you can make snowballs and stuff out of is plain awesome.

Especially when you can nonchalantly nudge a non-native off-balance so he steps straight into a huge pile of it and gets his pants, socks and shoes soaked... During work hours.

I'm tired of one of my relatives complaining I don't do anything. I spent three hours outside helping get stuff organized so that none of my stuff would get mixed up with other people's stuff when I move. I stopped for a few once or twice to look at things to make sure I got all the garbage up or to figure out where to put something and was told to "Stop standing around doing nothing like I always do."

I will heartily agree with Sweden being totally nonconfusing even if you *don't* speak the language. Hell, my swedish is very un-fluent, I mix it up with some Spanish and, of all the languages, Chinese words in, but I've been to Sweden plenty of times and never had a problem. Swedish people, much like Finnish, will bend over backwards trying to be helpful and so will mostly speak really good English to you.
My rant: Some streets in Helsinki are clear of snow....Love that. I just bought kind of spring booties with thinner leather and no fuzzy stuff on the inside, but am afraid to wear them in case I end up to a part of the city with no meltyness, and the cruel ice scratches my booties to shreds. But I want to look stylish and not a bigfoot. Argh! I wish it'd either all stay or all go away, but yeah right, empty lots in the suburbs are filled with snow plowed from streets, you could have a temporary ski centre on them. Seriously, mounds of snow taller than fir trees.

My WoW account timed out last night, and I promised myself I wouldn't activate it again until after exams are over, so I can concentrate on my schoolwork for the last month of the semester.
Last night, I was on the phone with my bf, when he starts going on about seeing a certian HUGE green scorpid in Uldum -_-
It figures. Months of looking and nothing, then after my account expires, he spawns. I hate you Murphy! And your law!
At least Maddex went to a good home. My sister-in-law went and tamed him.

Dearest co-worker....
Are you SERIOUS?! Did you seriously call me to ask to switch shifts? Telling me I should close tonight(5pm - 1am) when I have to work 9am-4pm? You're an idiot for even considering that and I've got plans. You've been trying to switch shifts with people since yesterday and its pissing me off. STOP IT. Do what the heck you were scheduled as and quit whining cause you wanna go drinking!

I broke Selma the Carnifex!

I was trying to get her out of her box so I could but her up on my shelf and she sliped from my hand and two of her arms fell off! I have to glue them back on now and repaint the chipped off paint.
Heres a picture of her before she died

Damn those Carnifex and their limbs!
Anyhow, I'm getting annoyed at people who laugh too loudly. Seriously.

I hate when we have company who know the dog will fuss, and try and chase her/jump at her anyway. 99% of the time it's douchebag kids and I really don't want to explain to their parents that my dog bit them because they were leaping at her and yelling.
I end up having to shut her in my room whenever they come over, and if I'm not there with her she goes into hysterics and throws herself against the door and makes a huge scene, and they know it breaks my heart, so why do they rile the dog up to the point where I have to do it?
