According to MMO-C it's been confirmed that you need to combine all four of these in JC to make the Jeweled Onyx Panther (The black one). Looks like they're all JC mounts too.
For some reason I can't stop thinking of a fancy sports car whenever I look at the red one.

Now I'm confused... There was a blue post a few days ago saying you would have to combine all the gem cat colours to make the *flying mount*. So... We combine all the four colours to make the flying-gem-panther-thing... What about the regular black gem cat then? I'm assuming the colours combined to make the flying one are red, green, blue and yellow. (Which doesn't make much sense to me, how does combining four coloured cats = flying cat?!) I'm so confused about this now. xD
I actually expect them to leave it that way, as a gold sink. It will cost 500k to buy the black one. Perfect way to take some of the old gold out of the game. What I would prefer to see is something like where a JC crafts the blue, green, red, and yellow panthers and upon crafting one of each learns how to make the onyx panther. Rather then having the other mounts consumed to make the black one.
This way, they would still keep the requirements of the other mounts, without having them consumed.

Also I'll be massively disappointed if the panther mounts end up being worth 500k+ or some stupid amount like that. Not all of us have the time to be sat grinding for gold all the time so these mounts will end up being aimed at the people who have the time, patience and 'skills' at the auction house to earn ridiculous amounts of gold.

Well, certainly the black one anyway. There have to be rewards for all play styles! If they want to reward players who play the auction house by letting them have a mount that costs a bit of gold, then I say go for it. Every mount in the game can't be attainable by every single player. That would just be...dull. According to a blue post, the RAF Rocket will be retired soon, all speculation is that it will be replaced by the winged black panther mount. So that's not the JC 500k mount, that's a ground mount.
