So Hex is the only one we need a map for then?

Challenge accepted.

Got Hex, tracking now. Map sooooooon

Edit: good grief, Hex has a crazy path too, how do I end up tracking ones with crazy ass paths >< Tour of dread wastes inc

Edit 2: path complete, assembling map...

Edit 3: Map complete. Hex takes roughly an hour to get from start to finish. I have all my screenshots still so if anyone has a question about any point of his path, just let me know.

Heres some more info:
If you see a track going one way and then a few metres ahead/behind it its going the other way it means your target is now heading the other direction currently right now you have to switch to the tracks that are going oppossite to the way he is now going. Yes its confusing, yes I hope they change it from the moonwalkers we have now.

Also Glimmer does infact phase in serpents heart, I followed him down the path and he just dissapeared once he got into serpents heart. So there is probably some quest line there or once you finish certain quests it may help. But currently my lvl 85 hunter who hasnt done any quests loses him in the phase zone.

Proof of this from Hexapos. When he reached his northern stop point, this happened. It should only happen near the ends of their path, but I have a feeling that the footprints are generated by the mob, and not set nodes like ore and herbs. So I wonder if the beast can drop wayward prints if its been feared or pulled off track etc?

It just means the mob has reached the end of the path and is now heading the other way. Ive watched Glimmer and Savage place down two tracks like that when they went back the other way :) They seem to reach the end of their path and then turn around and go back the way they came.

Yes, they can - Yaone feared Stompy around for a bit and got some amusing results wayyyy back in the riddle thread: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 20#p380120.

Seeing prints going in two different directions is a definite sign that you need to turn around and why it's important to examine each print rather than blindly following them. The fact that you're following the tracks backwards to begin with just makes things harder.

Oh dear... well I guess the good news is the only time this could happen on live is if a hunter was trolling. What a way to troll though

I found out something about Glimmer. I found him at this known northern end point, I started a timer.

As he walked south, near Serpent's Heart he phased out, so I parked and waited for his return tracks to show up. around 40 minutes, they did. I followed him back to the northern end point, total time was about 50-55 minutes.

So Glimmer makes a complete round trip, from point A to B, back to point A in about 50-55 minutes. We might not know his entire route, but we know it isn't as large as Hex or Pat. Hex takes an hour just to make a one way trip from A to B, and Pat was closer to an hour and a half.

The phasing near Serpent's Heart is rather short, I believe; I'll try to get a tag on him to nail the southern part of his route. I've followed him through it, just not documented it.

Well I decided to go look for Bloodtooth again and its like what I thought he is lvl 87 now. Decided to have some fun with him and use fear beast.
Yes his tracks can go wildly but another thing he does is.. he sticks his head in his shell as he runs around feared  also if he knicks something or I think its turn too sharply he will go into his shell!! I didnt get a pic of that because he does it in a matter of one sec.. but it was the most hilarious thing ive ever seen. I love this turtle.

We should be able to find prints in the southern part. I'm going to park a hunter there and see what happens.

Aww so my lvl 86 hunter got Bloodtooth just in time then :) And that's really funny.

At first I just kinda stared at it.. wondering where the heck his head went. Though I laughed really hard when he got feared into the side of a boat and went into his shell.

This MAY have small inaccuracies, but to the best of my recollection, this is Glimmer:

So beside confirming the phase portion of Glimmer's map (assuming that is even necessary), we have all our maps, right? Does that website that was tracking maps know about my Hexapos map and your fuller Glimmer map? I cant seem to find a link to it ><
