As far as I know on live server Zaricotl is aggressive *until* he kills a player, then he becomes satisfies and is neutral for a period of time afterwards.

I believe that I know why:
After killing a player, Zaricotl displays this emote:
Zaricotl seems much calmer now that it has eaten the remains of <player>.
For a short period after eating the remains of a player, Zaricotl will not aggro players unless attacked.
You see, he turns neutral for a while after killing someone.

I figured that was the case, but sometimes the quality of reports on Wowhead is dodgy/confused as players don't tell the whole story.

At any rate, I doubt he ate anyone on the beta, so neutral all the time seems likely in Cata.

I think I might know why.

On Ryai, when she was leveling in badlands, I stumbled into my nemesis. My ancient foe. No, not a giant centaur.

That. Damned. Bird.

He killed my pet, and he killed me, 3 times in a row in a span of around 15-20 minutes. And he never went Neutral.

Yet at other times I've stumbled across him on other alts, and he's been neutral. Sometimes for 30+ minutes. Sometimes he stays neutral until I kill him.

Aka; he's bugged. He does the emote, but he doesn't become neutral. So instead of having this giant bird of death terrifying people from playing in badlands, as trust me, it's horrible enough without the thought of two wandering elites and they only 'recently' turned the elite tag off the two dragons for that quest chain there..

And instead of making his level you know sane, they make him neutral permanently.

They could have done both, which is why I asked. ;) Vultros is only level 10 now, after all!

Well Blizzard are poopy pants. >.>

but hey if he doesn't stalk the lands trying to eat my bones again, I might seriously level/quest in badlands and enjoy it. Without you know looking over my shoulder or screaming profanities for riding right into him because the other buzzards decided to load first. THEN Zaricotl.

I must say, in all the time I spent questing in The Badlands I never had the misfortune to encounter this infamous vulture. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen him in the wild.

You're lucky, Veph; he's the rare I see the most in that area....which can be quite traumatic for lowbies.

Is Uldum open on the beta yet? It might be a great new home for the turquoise scorpions that have gone MIA from the Barrens.

Never really had much trouble with him, either. I find it unfortunate that higher level elites don't really have the same presence in zones the way they did in Vanilla.

Does Durotar still have its beige scorpids?

Ya know.. this may seen odd to ask. But... has anyone checked on Timber? Hes always been the easiest of the white worgs to get, you can almost bet your account he'll be there, and if not that he'll spawn in no time flat. Though there are others out there with the same model, there all rare spawns outside of AV. So yeah... any word on Timber? Or for the matter, the other rare in felwood? I hear the one in duskwood is turning brown >.>

For that matter, is Chatter still around/looking the same as ever, with all of the changes to Redridge? He hasn't made it into the spreadsheet and now I'm starting to worry.

Someone mentioned in some topic that Timber's current area is taken over by Gnomes or something - the wolves currently on the islands are now scattered and whoever told us about this didn't spot Timber. :(

Found Bagthera, he is still walking on the same spot near Zul'gurub.

And Lord Condor in Loch Modan, only he has some new feathers, if I'm not mistaking:)

As far as The Beast goes, he's still tamable as far as the tooltip is concerned and you can cast Tame beast on him.

However, to me he seemed to be charging more often and I didn't have a shaman with me to speed up my cast speed. And this was with a lot more haste from the ArP that used to be on my gear, which cut a good 4 seconds off the cast.

So while i can't confirm at this time whether he keeps his boss tag, I can say that he's still there and theoretically tamable, luck permitting.
