Yeah, that could get out of hand very easily!
Although hey, if he's getting tipped for his service to the hunter community, he'd be well compensated. xD

Okay, so I see he keeps the oil coat if you dismiss, resummon, stable, whatever.
I suppose the important thing is, does he keep it if he -dies-? Anyone willing to risk their void wolf to find out if the "buff" sticks after death?

He keeps it if he dies, if you enter an instance, if you do arena, if you make him run off a cliff and resummon.

Start taming at 10 secs for hunters with 0 haste. I'll post a screen shot after I level it. Does anyone know if it keeps oil after leveling? It auto levels when you tame so I don't see why not.

Mine tamed and leveled to 75. I ran several heroics to level him up. He died pretty quickly the first few, but soon he was level 80 and not dying so easily. And still very very oily.

Does anyone have a high enough level alli toon on Bloodhoof EU? I've been trying to pester some random alli at the questgiver, but either they've ignored me completely or put a dot on the wolves so I can't trap them. :/

Im sure my little BloodElf could wait.

Since there still seem to be some questions here is what I tested mine at. My quote from page 3 I believe.
zedxrgal wrote:Testing completed!!!
I did everything I could think of and it's official through all they keep the oil soaking.
In dungeons /arena /PvP, including heroics
Dismissed and called back
Killed, revived
Changing pets
In /out of the stable
Logging off
Logging out of the game completely
So without a doubt it's permanent!!!
I also named my boy B.P. (hope you catch the pun)
Happy hunting. He's very cool to have!
So yes it's kept permanently, 100%

So maybe you saw my Alliance hunter on page 9 of this thread showing off her new wolf... and then maybe you saw me asking if anyone could help me get the wolf on my Area 52 Horde hunter...
I am a very impatient person.... it's only been like.... A DAY!
So... I couldn't take it anymore... so I helped myself out...

(BTW.. it only took 3 tries this time... I removed all haste gear and about 9.5sec started tame)
I love how it looks like a family picture with everyone showing up... even the in-laws start to show up [see behind us].

My freaking wolf disappeared again... this time while I was in ICC. Put in a ticket, and this time I will wait for a response, because I am not going to tame another and level it for it only to vanish.
A bit frustrated that this is only happening to me, and only with this particular wolf. >:(

You don't happen to have the abandon BW macro for taming something like Krush do you? I saw a thread on the hunter forums where a guy popped BW right after taming Krush and ended up abandoning him because he never took the taming macro off his bars.

You know what, I actually do, it's bound to my alternate actionbar that I use for stuff like fishing and pots.
I bet somehow I was retarded enough to still have my alt actionbar up in a dungeon.
THANK YOU WITH THE AFFECTION OF A THOUSAND PUPPIES!
EDIT: That's a tragic story btw.

I wish I posted the first time the wolf poofed on you, but after I saw it happened again, I was like- I have to, just in case. You might have had the macro keybound and hit it unknowingly for all we know- and that guy on the forums? Whew, yeh I kinda cringed when I read the thread. He had some people being jerks, naturally, but others were helpful and told him to write a ticket if he hadn't prior. My heart went out to him. I took my macro off my bar, and even went as far as to delete it from my UI, just on the offchance that something bizarre happened. And the puppy affection- I think my head might asplode from the cuteness of that! But in a good way!

Agh, it's for that reason I'm too paranoid to use a BW/Instant Abandon macro. I'd be far too terrified to accidentally hit it while deleting it or removing it. *shudder*

Whats the point of one of those macros? Just curious

If you're up against something like King Krush or The Beast where timing is vital, you have to basically pop Bestial Wrath (to give you the immunity benefits) but then abandon your pet right after. Doing all that by hand wastes precious time, so a macro allows you to instantly drop the pet without a confirmation box or anything.
