Yeah, it was totally uncool. At least the cops were nice to me. They gave me free coffee. ^^

Okay! So.
The plan.
...Simple, actually. Overload the elemental cultists. They can stand high amounts of regulated magic, but non-regulated magic ends up making them extremely unstable and they explode. They have to be in fairly strong states to start absorbing magic cast at them, but once they reach that point, magic of their element that is cast at them will be absorbed into their bodies. When it's not regulated (Basically, any magic from humanoids), it can be dangerous for them.
So, to kill Batlek, you'd get shadow casters. Lightfur, nature casters.

Alternatively, you could drain them. It's simpler, but it takes subduing them and knowing how to do it. It also takes a couple of vessels for the magic to go into. Lightfur might end up changing his mind about the Cult, so he might be one to be drained.

And, finally, the cultists want to keep moving, so they'll probably pick up more infused cultists as they move.

Just want to run this past all of you before Talon talks about it. >.>

Seems okay to me, other than one bit. Infused cultists are elemental ascendants, yes? Elemental ascendants are elementals, who have an innate resistance to their element. I'd suggest we use Holy against Shadow, Fire against Frost and so forth. I suppose Unholy would do good against Nature.

Just my thoughts on it.

I think that's kind of what Lupis is trying to say Sat. That the cultists can absorb their own element but others used against them cause them to overload? At least that is how I read it.

I might change it to that. I was thinking that infused cultists weren't quite like elementals because instead of being immune to their element, they absorb it to make them more powerful. It's only when they come in contact with their own magic type that's completely unregulated and chaotic that they have a problem.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. >.>

From how I read it she's saying we need Shadow against Shadow and Nature against Nature because it isn't regulated.

Elementals can absorb it regardless, I think my suggestion makes more sense, 's all.

EDIT: Yeah, that's what I thought. It doesn't really make sense to me to have it the way you originally put it.

From what I can tell, you're essentially "overloading the system". It's like a power surge for a computer. Huge burst of electricity, computer can't handle it and shuts down. I think that's what the idea is.

Ok, so let's say Batlek takes shadow attack after shadow attack. he gets more powerful, but he eventually reaches a point where he can't absorb anymore and goes kaboom?

What I don't get is why we can't just follow established lore? Elementals take more damage from their "nemesis" element, and are immune to their own.

Either way works for me. I just wanted to be sure I understood how Lupis was going about her method that's all.

I'm perfectly fine with having them take more damage from their opposing elements. That's why I mentioned this before Talon said anything. xD I knew I'd have to edit it a bit.

I'm with Seren, I'm pretty happy either way you guys want to put this.
I guess I'd point out that the infused aren't technically the same as the acsendants. Different method of creation, probably creates different flaws. I could also see this extra energy being a boost to their power before they pop. Much like a baloon swells as new air is pumped into it, before it explodes.
But opposing elements works well too. Only problem is I don't think we have any holy casters. Batlek could be a problem

Inc. special travel to Darnassus to find Alarial?

I'd love bringing Alarial back. The only people who are likely to want to, and who can, attack Batlek with holy energy is Myriana and possibly Saturo, if someone gets her a wand. ^^ I doubt any of the goblins would be able to wield holy magic, but that's possible too I suppose. Either way, easiest way would be fetching Alarial.

Completely off topic, I managed to snag 7 days of free time from Blizzard, and was intent on creating Zaruuk on WRA (US)... Turns out the name was already taken by a human rogue. D:

Nooooo!!! I was gonna see if you could make him over there too before I found out you couldn't play. >:[ I are sad panda now.

Not that him and Indi would be able to communicate anyway since she's Horde, but still.

Oh, haha, I just read up through the other stuff. I can bring Alarial back if you want--preferably (hopefully) stronger and more combat able this time.
