REQUEST FOR HELP: checking unlisted beasts

Thanks guys for all your help!! The list is shrinking considerably

I've updated the lists. Added Acidmaw as well. Added a section on pets for the new ZG, and potential hunter starter pets (the ones in Wowhead all begin with "Young" but the ones that spawn in game just have generic names like "Bear", but I think they're the same). Fortunately so far most seem to be gone and there's only a few I'll have to add to Petopia.

Anytime! It was somethin I noticed for awhile. Did you go through the other thread already? The Corrections one? I know I reported none of the parrots in DM have silver portraits, therefore are not actually rare. They just are RNG based.

In other words, please keep posting any corrections for Petopia in the corrections thread so they are all in one place. I'm reworking the back end of Petopia to play nice with the NPC IDs Wain filled in, and then I need to fix the looks based on new database flags I made for those (based on Wain's skin posts), and then we should be able to catch up with corrections.

And now I will stop derailing this thread.

Updated, thanks I also moved the zone-sorted list close to the top now that the alpha list was small enough to combine into one post.

The one beast you mentioned that I haven't updated yet is the Corrupted Surf Crawler in Durotar. I've also looked for it and failed to find it. But it was supposed to be a solitary spawn and maybe we just haven't seen it yet. I'll keep an eye out and if it still doesn't show I'll delete it later.

Theoretically, some of these could be in the Old Hillsbrad instance instead of just being in Hillsbrad, if someone can check it.

From what I have heard, this is the "placeholder" for Aeonaxx. It has the same spawn locations & patrol path, from the comments I've read, much like Vyragosa does for TLPD. It is up for 6 minutes, but despite requests, I can't find out if they can be pulled or tamed.

Thanks Went and checked them out to make sure they're tameable. If you find more beasties, could you please actually tame them to confirm? There are a number of things that are flagged as tameable but aren't in practice. Cheers

I would have done but I didn't have any spare slots, I just happened to be inside the instance while reading the thread (farming rep for the cool hat that summons a wolf from one of the heroics ) and checked. All my pets are rares that would have taken a while to get back, so I didn't want to abandon any.

I left Tcha'kaz in for now, just in case it spawns during a quest. Just want to do a bit more checking first.

Hmm, according to a comment on Wowhead, Tcha'kaz spawnign may be related to killing Witch Doctor Mai'jin in the same cave. Was tehre anything in the cave when you checked, Amayane?

OK, I took the ones that had been confirmed as in the game, filled out their data in the spreadsheet and sent them to Mania for inclusion.

There's still a bunch to be checked, when anyone has time, but at least the list is getting way smaller.

BTW, has anyone managed to get NPCscan to work on the PTR? It seems to be broken

I'm going to list a few of the ones in that list but not updated, quick:

Blood Seeker - spawns for 6 minutes as the non-rare version of Aeonaxx in Deepholm, needs checking to see if it's tameable.

Curious Jungle Monkey - new on PTR, ZG, hoots when clicked after taming.

Young Venomhide Ravasaur - Tameable on Beast Lore, BUT friendly to both factions

Zul'Gurub Eagle - fairly certain these cannot be targetted, but show on tracker--someone double-check?

Pride of Bethekk - tameable ZG black/red-eyed hunched cat. I think one of the versions is the type in the boss room, which I can't check without a group, as they can't be targeted before the encounter.

Warhawk - ICC mob, controlled by the Vrykul females just before Valithria. Marked Tameable, but Controlled so can't be tamed.

Tawny Owl - not sure why they aren't on Petopia if they're not; just standard gray (not quite tawny... :S ) owls in Twilight Highlands. Tameable.

Bloodsnarl Scavengers - I suspect that these may be the hyenas that Salhet's Lions fight during the quest where you control the lions. Can anyone confirm?

I'm pretty sure the Windroc Huntress was removed from the games ages ago. Like just after TBC launch.

Unfortunately it's hard to tell which NPC ID (or both) is being used until NPCscan is updated to work on the PTR (or data start appearing on their Wowhead pages).

I think you might be right. Can someone tame them while that lion fight is going on? Or are you in your own phase? I suspect the latter. From memory you're frozen there with a toolbar and can't do anything else, but I could be wrong.
