Now they're starting to speculate that he might either be bugged and therefore not spawning, his spawn timer is extremely long or there's something people need to do.. I think I might take a break from all the Poseidus camping until I know more..

I've also given up for now and am waiting for news of people actually seeing him on live.

He's apparently been found and working as intended, according to some posts over at WoWHead (see Reins of Poseidus).

On both Poseidus and Reins of Poseidus on wowhead, I didn't see any comments that confirmed that someone saw and killed him after patch, so I'll need to go back and re-read again.

i keep trying from time to time, but no more camping.. really, what do i need a water mount for?!

I've been sitting dog-tired circling the spawns since patch-day (hence the sudden upsurge in my postcount, boredpostingmuch ). Hoping it's not in vain, lol.

I'll shout here if I get a blue reply or any useful info!

The longer this takes me to find him the faster my guild get Mix Master xD made about 30 in the past few hours

Looks like a blue posted, but didn't give much info other than "its a very rare spawn" XD But it is functioning, yay! But then again, I knew it was functioning since I have heard of the mount being sold on my realm. But I'm guessing its a very very long spawn rate, probably 22-72 hrs ish.

Right just had a gander through about 10 other servers, using the linkable reigns i found none were linkable

On my realm its still linkable, but I have yet to see Poseidus myself I'm even using NPCscan (and I HATE npcscan!).

I'm almost so tired, I think Aeonaxx might be easier. lol

When you say they're linkable, are you doing it in a chat line? I.e. linking them into game, and THEN trying to link them into either /s or /w? I think they're simply linkable everywhere, but if you're actually getting it to link in a chat line, are you EU or US?

Just wanted to bump this to ask if anyone's found him--thus far on Wowhead there have been *no* confirmed kills worldwide :S

Unless someone has killed him & not yet reported it, it suggests to me that it's either broken (despite what the GMs say) or has some unknown trigger or replacement.

If there's an unknown trigger, we may need to kill Koraloth, Velskar or the Whale Shark, or do something else in the zone, for a chance to spawn him. Perhaps he now only spawns if they're all dead.

If there's a "replacement," by which I mean he's now got a chance to spawn *in place of* another mob, either there's a new unique mob in his spawn points or he's got a chance to spawn in his own spawn points instead of one of the rares spawning in theirs.

If he's only spawning once per week, we just need to wait

My guess is that something's broken, and they won't tell us when they realize this & fix it (and probably for the best, as many of us who've been camping here would RAGE, lol--I'd ticket and demand free cookies).

ANYWAY, TLDR: I suggest that we try doing crazy things like killing the big non-rare elites, and keep an eye out for unique mobs--like the Sea Snake at Burgy's spawnpoint--but with long spawn timers.

Velskar confuses me everytime i pass by.

i don't really believe in things like "kill abc...then there might be chance for xyz to spawn" but today is sunday (almost monday) and still there is nothing...NOTHING AT ALL, maybe there 's a bit truth in it?!

just a random thought.. maybe he is bugged but in the same way derp bat works as we cant be at every spawn point at once... perhaps he will become the new Zalashji and people will work up crazy ideas, sorry im half asleep my brain isnt quite functioning

Er, issue:

Poseidus is listed on NPC Scan as being in the zone Abyssal Depths. Does this mean NPC Scan is only SEARCHING for him there? Will it only ping an alert there? It should be searching Shimmering Expanse as well.

I don't know if Zone is merely for the user's convenience or if, like World, it limits the search function. I can't remove the Zone info, even by removing & re-adding Poseidus.

Will this be affecting my hunt?

If NPCscan detects a rare outside of the zone it's listed in, there will be no pop-up alert, but you will still receive a text-alert in the chatbox. This happened once to me when I was on the boundary of Storm Peaks and Zul'Drak. NPCscan picked up the Terror Spinner, but I was technically in Storm Peaks so it just sent a 'false' alert in the chatbox. I double checked and sure enough Terror Spinner was up right below me.
