This brings back old memories, good old memories!

I'm now on the PTR, and I've noticed a few things with this feature so far:

• Your pet bar becomes inactive (greyed out) when you are mounted, and your pet stance automatically becomes passive.
• Your pet can still aggro mobs but will not retaliate because of the auto-passive stance.
• Unfortunately, your pet name currently shows as "Unknown" when you are mounted. Hopefully this will be fixed.
• Pets will despawn if you fly away on a flying mount. They will not respawn when you land until you dismount.

These have always happened when our pets are out while we're mounted.

Yes, but if you do aggro a mob your pet will still cast roar of courage etc while it is passive therefor taking aggro from you to the pet. It also slows WAY down when you have aggro.

Sometimes using a flight path will despawn the pet till you call it again too.

I haven't had the "unknown" name bug, still showed the correct names for me.

I'm wondering if aggro will be a big deal? I suppose it won't, since I fly EVERYWHERE and hardly ever use my ground mount! Anyway, *memories* !

It won't be a big deal, the pet will despawn cause it will fall so far behind with aggro.

I hope this goes live! That was one big change that I really disliked during BC, when the fix for hunter pets falling off cliff as the hunter flew away was simply "Now none of you can have your pets out!" (I know that wasn't the reason for it but I remember some hunter gleefully telling me he was flying off cliffs to watch his pet fall. )

As far as pets aggroing things, that's how it was in vanilla and early BC and I don't remember it causing any real problems for me. You just keep on riding. It's somewhat similar to having a low level character on a 2 person mount and having them aggro stuff... just keep riding.

Oh man I hope this goes live when the time comes..I miss having my lion run by me when I was on my mounts XD

Can't believe I missed this, I thought I noticed it but I always hit up a flying mount and take off instantly so he always disappeared everytime. Very nice.

Hunters will be the sole reason people start using ground mounts again. I loved nothing more than taking screenies of my hunter running across beautiful landscape with his favorite mount and pets at his side. I am a happy hunter. XD

I vaguely recall it was a mix between hunters complaining about pets dying from all the mobs they aggroed and people questing or farming on the ground complaining about hunters flying off with packs of mobs all aggroed on them. So I'm all for not having pets out while the hunter is flying, because sometimes you just don't remember to dismiss them and it causes problems like that. But on the ground, I miss that so much! Even if it's just riding around in the city, it's just nice to have your pet accompany you (instead of magically putting it in the huge pocket that you carry everything else in).

For a moment I thought this was about Hydras, lol

But I LOVE this just as well, never experianced this feature, and can't wait to once it goes live.

I'm so happy. I literally haven't seen a pet run beside me since 2.3 launch when the pets still ran behind Reindeer mounts ;_;

SO yea..TOTALLY broke Sili in the Petopians guild with this news..shes been rambling on about matching pets and demanding a gnome take pictures of pets o_o
