Wait, really? DAMMIT.

Nah, mine is totally... sex... free. It took me days to get it written down without any making out or something like that.

Omg, It's so addictive!
I had a bit of trouble with the 1st one, then the 2nd one was a bit easier and then I just couldn't stop!

If your not quite sure how many syllables are in that word, this little page may help ^^

SB, that page is wonderful! Though, I'm not sure I agree with it on some points. I really thought certain words I used had two syllables, buth that site says they are only 1... *shrug*
I sent in a couple entires I just whipped up. Tributes to my favorites! ;D

I was a little unsure about it too, thinking that some words I used were that of 2 syllables and not the one that it said it was on the website, but then I thought maybe I was having syllable anxiety and looking for ones that weren't there... In any case, if I have to many, please don’t scold me Mania! It was the websites fault! I tried to be good, promise! :(

One I had niggest issue with was 'stalked'. I thought it was 2, but the site said it was 1... Hopefully, we can trust the site. If not, Mania's sympathy?

In Germany, little kids learn how to break up words into syllables by clapping in elementary school.
It's very easy but hard to describe.

With that "tool", stalked is one syllable.

Its taught the same way in Canada.
I just keep thinking it as sta-lked, or stalk-ed, or whatever. I keep weirding myself out over it... Curse you language! Curse you!

I've done the random drawing and I am sending out e-mails to the winners (and in fact everyone else) now. I'm beginning to post the entries for the popular vote, although I may not get it all done before I go to bed.

One small caveat: I'd like to keep the popular vote more or less anonymous so that voting rests on the strength of the entries themselves. So if you don't mind, please hold back on claiming your haiku for the moment. ;)

Tough I didn't win the gametime, nor am I likely to win the popularity vote, since I know you guys are secretly planning an assasination, and my entry wasn't all that great, I couldn't be more excited. Writing the haiku sire was fun (honestly tough, a haiku involves something about the seasons), and trying to figure out who wrote what will be fun. Contests like this one sure are fun.

*Raises glass of wine*
Here's to hoping for more contests!

Bleh, my poem doesn't have a lot of votes! Then again, reading the others, I probably wouldn't have voted for it myself either...
