No, the story of
Noah's flood is just a Jewish/ Christian story/ myth.
Yes, There are many flood stories from many cultures including Native American stories, but, again no, there hasnt been any evidence to support the idea of a global flood.
The evidence is there for periodic regional flooding, yes, including two particularly bad ones that occurred in the Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea areas at around 5800 BC and 2900 BC one of which is "probable" the basis of the Jewish, Christian, Babylonian, and Sumerian legends.
There is a big difference between the two, and one cannot mistake one as evidence for the other. Real (as in ones that follow the evidence regardless of their personal beliefs. People like Francis Collins) scientist don't.
I understand the reference. I know quite a bit about the story, more than most actually.
I have no issue with the reference, or it's origin. (in this context anyways)
My only concern was how Saturo was "in my opinion" attacked for voicing her opinion.
I have no issue with differing opinions, I often play devils advocate to make sure all sides of each argument was represented.
But, when the freedom to voice ones opinion is attacked, well... I can't stand for it.
As I have voiced my opinion, and you guys have voiced yours I feel the "issue" has been addressed.
Now back on topic guy

I am sure you guys would prefer it, lol.

I kinda hate that you call it a myth or fairytale story cause to me as a christian I believe in it. But really the FACT is that its noahs ark in a bat signal. Thats it. Thats all. End of story.
Noah put animals 2 by 2 in a boat, this case is he put 8 rares in two zones thatll pwn you if your not careful.

In my post I wrote story / myth. I did not call it a fairy tale.
Story-noun-
1. Written or spoken account of something
2. Fictitious tale
3. News report
4. Lie
Myth-noun-
1. Legendary story, person, ect
2. False popular belief
In my post I was using the first definition of both.
Of course my personal belief includes definition 2 in both, but that is a side note.
You have the right to be offended, and to say so.
Just as I have the right to say that the story is a story /myth.
This may seem offensive, but it is not meant that way.
There is one difference between the two opinions.
My belief is based on science and evidence, and is subject to revision and change as new information gives us a better understanding.
Your belief is based on faith and is not subject to change.
Understanding this key difference is important.
Maybe this will help.
A famous quote I like to use because I think it provokes thought and introspection.
"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." -Stephen F Roberts
I hope this helps you understand my view.
-Good day and good hunting-

Tis why clearly religion is a touchy subject for everyone and why I agree to keep it off boards one thing will say though unless you were there to see how the world and life was created by some big bang explosion then you really cant say much more then its a belieft. Thats why its called a big bang theory. The only difference is that I believe the world was created in love not by some big strange random explosion. And thats how I prefer it ^.^
And Kalli you need to change that to a spider one so that we can get these spiders to spawn.. geez...

Be careful; Spiderman may show up instead, which wouldn't be particularly helpful.

I'll be sure not to use his logo. Hopefully that'll be enough. xD

Maybe you should dress your character up like the exterminator in Arachnophobia.
That got the big spider out in that movie.
You guys remember that big spider jumping at John Goodman?
As for the big bang theory, the scientific method, and the rest of it, well, I know that I would not be able to express my views cogently on these forums, this thread is not the place for that discussion, and you would probably not be open to what I would have to say.
But, in all seriousness. I will leave it at that.

Combine the two ideas - and do remember to take a screenshot or two!
