So, opinions on the premiere last night?
I enjoyed it.. to a point.
I was very disappointed that they chose to write the teen-aged son as such an idiotic jerk.
I hope that whole "rebellious teen" plot element is over and done with. It SEEMED to be fixed by the end of the episode, but you never know. He's got one of those "I wanna slap him upside the head" sort of faces.

It was not bad of a show, not much of a OMG I need to see the next episode sorta thing at the end of the premier episode.

I missed it but am thinking about checking youtube... however, can anyone tell me how much dinosaur action they showed? E.g. lots of CGI and RAWR, or just a few menacing blurs?
(You can probably tell who I'm rooting for)

a moderate amount of dino action, and RAWR.
there's an OK action scene trapped in a jeep-like vehicle. (where, to be frank, I WAS rooting for the dinos.. there were a couple characters I wouldn't have minded getting knocked off)
I imagine there will be more in future episodes.
The effects were good for TV, but not entirely cinema-standard, so don't expect to be blown away with the realism of the dinos.

I liked it enough, but I much prefer Walking Dead and Falling Skies for my Sci-Fi fix on TV.

This has not aired in NZ yet but we did get Walking dead and that was wondeful! Tho the 2nd season looks like it's not going to be any where as good with the whole fireing frank darabont thing and the budget cut D: why is it the good shows get the shit things happening to them?

Haha I guess the slashers were not a very effective predator, one girl GETS OUT OF THE CAR and runs into the forrest and runs right into one of these things and survives.....Good thing for her it wasn't a raptor, those things rack up a body count like who knows what

I was thinking the same thing. There's really no way a human, in any shape or fitness should be able to survive a head on meet-up with any quick dinosaur like the Slasher, but oh well. I liked the 2nd episode with the flying lizards, it had a neat solution to it IMO.

I watched the 2nd episode last night, and was VERY gratified to see that the "annoying teen" aspect of the son was gone.
And I also enjoyed the particular dilemma and resolution of the episode.

3rd episode.. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand...
FRACK
I mean, I love watching the boys of summer... during the SUMMER!
I HATE when damned Fox network lets a baseball game go into nearly an hour's worth of extra innings, and then you set your Tivo to record a show, but only get the first 15 minutes of it!
Thankfully, I was able to catch it on another network, but I basically got to see the first 10 minutes or so, then skipped to about half an hour into the show.

I have the same problem with CSI: Miami on sunday nights, so I just set mine to record an extra hour. If it still gets clipped... Bravo to the football teams.

I ended up not really watching the last episode...
I simply lost interest in the series.
I just had that "kids show trying too hard to appeal to adults" air about it.
