@Gammaman: Lich King didn't like to move right. He also showed as big as a raid boss, which was cumbersome.

@erwil: They drop the change mid-combat. Wouldn't be much to show. Only a few models work in combat for some reason.

If an update comes out for the program I use that allows pets to stay in form, I'll do some demo fights of them just to add to your hunger.

way way way back in the vanilla days, when BC was a rumor in the early beta, the now humaniod Shale Flayers were tameable. they were beasts back then, but it was very brief i dont get why they arent. theyd make perfect ferocity pets with 4% physical damage increase and an AoE.

If you are an engineer and go into stone core, you can MC belt the ones in there and make them use the flay ability they have... ohh my god i get so much damage in the 30 seconds i have him

I wish it wasn't an account risk... I'd be extremely tempted to model edit something into a black drake.

Thank you for showing us these!

I am now hoping that, one day, stags become pets O.o It looked surprisingly good!

Some very nice work! Only some of the pets look a bit too big for my taste (dragons and the firehawk, for example).

Aye, if it was legal I would turn my wolf into a Hydra.

Be aware that Blizzard has stated that editing your WoW data files this way is unacceptable to them and they may take action against your account.

In other words, you could be banned.

While I check with Mania on how she wants to handle this thread, please keep the topic focused on the pictures (as you have been) and skip the detailed instructions of model editing. Thanks.

I remember a discussion from while back considering this subject. Model editing is a bit of a slippery slope, but as long as it's a cosmetic change and not something game breaking, I don't think you can get banned for it.

isent there a unwritten rule thats something like this: if only you can see it and it doesnt give you anny game advantages then its just good fun?
Before druids got their new forms there was a mod around that would change your druidforms. your cat form could be a worgen if you so wanted. Of course only the player itself would see these other models.
And isent there a player somewhere on these forums that was horde but used a gnome model?
It should be pretty safe if only you can see it. But for safety one shouldt go around telling people about it.
Just incase some reported you for editing the game.

But could you be so kind to show how a mana wurm, a marsh walker and a Mana serpent? :3 Oh and a shark! <3 one of the Treshers would be perfect.

For those questioning whether or not this was ever made a grey area, here's a blizz response from this year. So there's the answer.

Although, I am interested in seeing the mana wurm... They'd make some pretty cool pets, I bet.
