I've ditched so many rares because of this, these being the most "major" of them:
Loque (6 times!)
Gondria (three times)
Aotona
Olm the Wise (Only ever seen it once on my server. Never seen it since)
Skoll
Flaming armored boar (This one was incredibly hard to get)
Skarr (Tamed only to practice for Karkin. Abandoned right after. Yes, thrown away.)

I released Ghostcrawler, King Krush and a few others ... didn't feel a damn thing for them.

I have a few pets who I just never clicked with that I'd been keeping in my stables because I felt bad. I actually just recently went through my stables and abandoned a bunch.
And then there's the ones who have a personality. The ones who, even though I don't really use them any more, I can't seem to get rid of. I don't know why, but I just can't.

I can understand both. I feel kind of horrible about not really feeling much for Skoll once I had him. :/ Like man, way to snag him from a deserving home. But I've only felt really clicky with him a couple of times. Now he just doesn't (Maybe I'm a ghost sabre kinda gal... *eyes the Gondria trio*). I might let a Madexx or two go because while I like them, I only have so much solo and pvp content to go through.

But I don't have any sort of feelings toward my Shale Spiders. They're GREAT pets for PvE stuff, I've been having fun doing level 70-80 dungeons duo with them, but... they don't "feel" alive to me. More like my Warlock's demon.
Really? I find the squees to be one of the most charming pets. They seem to be so enthusiastic and lively. Admittedly, PetEmote helps too...

I'm so happy that you posted this...
I was specifically looking for this thread when I came to Petopia today, and I really wanted to come back and revisit my earlier comments.
With more time, I've grown incredibly fond of my Shale Spiders.
Yesterday, while farming for leather in Twilight Highlands, I found myself actually talking to Araneae and Portia, my pretty little blue Shale Spiders (I think they're blue.. I'm colourblind, and it gets confusing at times... they're not a rare or anything).
So yes, they've grown on me. A great deal.
I really thought I'd be totally in love with my Karoma, since that pet look is one I've been dreaming about for he longest time... but i find myself constantly using my shale spiders, on ALL my hunters who have them.

They are probably purple since there isn't a blue shale spider

oh, ok.
hehe, that falls into my "close enough for a hand grenade" category of "I was right". Blue, purple, bah tomato, turnip. same thing
