I was just talking to my boyfriend about how there seems to be a ton of griefing with these new rares. I've gotten lucky with mine but I have even received rude whispers from people of my own faction. "I eagle eyed over here and was on my way" is one I've gotten before. I think people just need to calm down. Other hunters should understand what it's like to have a rare killed right out from under you, it's heart braking. As for that priest, I'd report her. That's really all you can do, and then tell all your hunter friends that if they see her do anything like that again to report her. The more she gets reported the more likely it will be that she receives repercussions.
Personally I think that the rares that are a part of the hunter challenges should evade anyone who tries to kill them while they are being tamed. So say you are mid tame with Deth and a pally runs up and tries to kill him before you finish your tame Deth would evade everything. I doubt that will happen but you can dream, amirite? I had Deth killed out from under me the other day by a fellow hunter, I just don't get the "I'd rather see him dead than tamed by another hunter" mentality. Oh well, assholes will be assholes.

I have said many times how much its happened to me. This is so very much the "douchebag patch" and brings out the worst in people. Most hunters normally wouldn't give it a second thought if they saw someone else taming a rare, but these new ones must be really wanted (Kirix and Deth were my main goals, the others were just lucky coincidences). I see nothing special about Skarr, Magria and Ankha are Gondria reskins, and Skitter, Anthriss, and Solix all look pretty similar or have common mobs with the same skin. Still, you see people, NON hunters, going out of their way to kill, say, Skarr. I watched a mage counterspell his fieroclast and then proceed to just unload on him, depriving Skarr of the crying hunters nearby.

I don't think I can really report that priest, unfortunately. Like I said, she came up as I fell, so it wasn't like I was standing there casting tame and she just dotted him up. It was still a bitch thing to do, and I KNOW there's no way she wouldn't have seen me. I fell right in front of him, so it's not like I fell across the rocks and she wasn't sure or something. Even then, I think it's pretty safe to assume that someone who's been playing as long as she has knew what those rares are designed for and that they weren't part of an achievement.

I guess all I can do is tell other hunters who she is so that people watch out for her. Although, I wouldn't be too opposed to some people also making her life hell. xD

Anyway, I'm definitely staying out of the Molten Front for awhile. Maybe when I start to see people get their mounts, I'll go back. I'd much rather lose a rare to another hunter who camped for it because they liked the pet and wanted to tame it than some asshole who killed it because they hate hunters.

It's kind of unfortunate, because I transferred to Moon Guard from Blackrock, thinking that the community on an RP server would be friendlier, but this has been a bit discouraging. =/

To bad there wasn't an add on that would auto announce in general chat, that name and class of the player that kill's one of the 10 new rares.

MG usually is much friendly but since we are the largest wow server, while he have tons of nice people, we also have some of the worst with it.

It's definitely much friendlier than Blackrock, I'm just very disappointed with what happened with Skarr. I will admit I am happy that I moved here. ^_^

My second day here, I met a very nice hunter who helped me tame Deth after he saw that I was having trouble (posted my taming story here: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 34&t=13663 ^_^), and an Alliance rogue saw me trying to tame Skitterflame a couple days later and switched over to a Horde toon to give me some advice after he saw me die.

Also, I ended up helping that other hunter tame Deth last night after Skarr was killed, and she was SO grateful, which was nice. I felt bad because I may have come off a bit rude because I was so disappointed, but she was so friendly and she even tried to pay me for helping her. I declined and told her I was happy to help, and she thanked me again because it was her very first rare. :3

On my server, we have a "blacklist" going for people who do things like this. We add them to our ignore lists and refuse them any group invites. My mage is in a high end guild, so I have some pretty hard pull. These "blacklist" douchebags will either never get raid/group invites, or constantly be ganked if they are the other faction.

That's a brilliant idea. I'm hoping maybe Moon Guard has something like this, but I'm still too new here to know anyone to ask yet. xD

I actually had a really crappy experience. After camping all morning/afternoon for Deth logged for a for awhile. Came back on to see Deth staring right at me! Another hunter was there so I asked if I could tame it but she wanted it for her husband so I said go ahead and try first then if you fail Ill try to tame it. She had no clue how to do it and died. So thinking ok its my turn I go and send in my 3 trash pets, a guildie comes to help, then I notice another troll hunter hitting deth and trying to take agro so at this point I go to hit as much as I can asking for Mds to try and get my agro back I get it back and that same hunter who I let try first comes back steals agro then steals my tame. Like.. really? seriously? If someone is kiting it, why be such a jerk and steal my tame and there was nothing I could do about it. Whispered her back asking wth.. she says "how much do you want for the tame" ... yah .. it wasnt your tame, it was mine, you stole it.. I dont want anything from you.

I.. was quite ticked off. You dont know how to tame it, its not my fault but for you to turn around and steal something I worked for makes you a jerk.

And.. end of rant. feels better to get it off the chest

Thats only cause moon guard knows about the site. Most other servers dont know of its existance. XD
