Wasp bosses generate some freaky results. Some of them weird, some strikingly beautiful. Some both at once...



I call this one "Magic Carpet Ride"...



Silithids also generate some nice colours, though not nearly as trippy. It's a shame there are only four colours in the game... Here's three I picked out.


The same can be said of the silithid worker model (just including two examples as I'm out of space in this post):

That inky and red wasp = gorgeous.
Same goes to *all* of those silithids, who I would tame in a heartbeat. So much more interesting than the current colors!

Shiny!!! Can't stop giggling at clown bat. And you nailed the blond rhino! I could definitely see that one in game. The grey-blue bat looks gargoyle-like, which is wonderful. Beetles and wasps look like a lot of fun to play with, just due to the super-bright color schemes they're allowed.

Sooo pretty! I would get one of the purple silithids in a heartbeat!

I want a unique rhino. I've always wanted a unique Rhino.

Wow Wain, a lot of those new colors you generated look really gorgeous. Those purple and blue silithids are some of my favorites. I think I would tame clown bat just to try and scare people. XD

Someone asked me how you do these skin colour manipulations so I added a summary to the original post.

I really hope Noah takes a peek at this and maybe gets some ideas for Blizzard to potentially use for our beloved friends in the future.

A lot of these look really amazing for just a couple minutes worth of tweaking.

Oh, that black and red wasp boss... *cleans off his chair* I so wish they were the same supersize they used to be. That is just a gorgeous, gorgeous color. ... actually, most of them are absolutely gorgeous, but that's the one that grabbed me the hardest.

I agree Kurasu. That red and black one is just so stunning.

Oh my goodness, that last wasp looks HILARIOUS. And also oddly compelling...

Also loving that purple rhino.<3 And others, of course, but I don't remember them all because the wasps made me laugh too much and I forgot everything I was thinking at the time.

I've never been big on monkeys, but since there are only four colours for them I thought I'd give them a shot. It's difficult to get anything decent by this method because their bodies are mostly pretty dark and sombre, which means colour channel changes don't tend to shift them by a lot. And since their faces are much lighter you can end up with some really unnatural facial colours to boot. Still, with some trial and error I got a few variants that I thought different but still mostly natural. I'm not as happy with the face/body colour mix on the sandy one though... The magenta-ish one isn't really so natural but neither does it look too wrong.

... All I can say is one word. AMAZING. I think my hunter instincts are coming back to me. The rhino's are strange but miraculously lovable, the beetles I think I'll be able to tame now that I've seen yours, and the bats ... THE BATS ... they're to die for. Great job, Wain. Btw, the ghost sporebat is it, is fab and I'd love to see one put into a new zone.

You could have a glowing silver portal that could spawn rarely anywhere in WoW. And when you go through it, you go into something like 'The Ghostly Plane' or 'Land of the Sacred'. It could be like, the Twilights Hammer, as many still remain, were working on a new device when they accidentally opened a strange portal.
Then when you go in, there could be spirit beasts roaming in certain places - atleast one up at a time that isn't already spawned in the WoW reality - and maybe Aeonaxx / TLPD in a ghostly form. The mounts would have way more health, 100,000k perhaps, and would drop ghostly versions of the mounts. And on about 50% chance, a rare elite GIANT ghostly sporebat could spawn and fly over the ghostly plane. When you kill it, a smaller passive version spawns, that asks to be homed and lets you just tame it. It could speak common/orcish and reply to what you say ... and sometimes summon a spirit beast from the plane to fight for you.
But mind, the chance of the portal spawning would be about 5% out of 100. It sounds like a good idea to me!

But yes, your skins are AMAZING and I'd die to see them implemented in a later date.

Oooh, I love the blue eyes on the last monkey! I could see the magenta one being an escapee from a quest involving goblin experimentation... xD

Thanks When you can have real-world primates that look like this, this and this, it'd be nice to have some weird and brightly coloured ones. But it's hard to do it without them looking quite unnatural.

Someone get this guy an award, seriously. These are lovely Wain - I quite like the fourth wasp in particular and I don't even like the boss model normally. I would pay someone for the purple silithid as well - adorable animations + favorite color = YES.
