Silver would look too much like those bland grey ones you see all over Silvermoon and in any area with blood elves. SPECTRAL DRAGONHAWK NOW PLEASE!

I decided to head over to Northrend to check and see if any of the rares were up... not one... nada... just nothing to be found. Mostly just went to see if I would be lucky and see Loque for the second time, but NO. No Loque to be seen. And after I checked the other spirit beasts/rare pets... I pretty much want to think that cata didn't make these pets any easier to find. Or I have terrible luck with Northrend pets.

If I recall correctly, Blizz has never confirmed an increase in spawn timers for any of the Northrend Rares just because it's a less used zone now. Same goes with Outland and even Azeroth for some spawns, it's purely the luck of the draw.

I didn't expect them to be.... just that Northrend is less populated than it used to be... therefore it *should* be more likely to spot a rare compared to the WotLK days when I camped them and every zone was highly populated with farmers and questers. People still quest there to level, and some people still camp things there like TLPD.... but Sholazar Basin in particular isn't farmed the way it used to be back when I tamed Loque, that was a nightmare (plus he counts towards an achievement and drops shiny loot making him a target for those farmers) ...I think I worded what I said incorrectly is all. I never expected spawn times to change, just that they would have a chance to be left alone a bit longer (More people spend time in Cata content nowadays)

Whoa, thanks for all the luck guys! Starting the camp tomorrow, delayed it cause I made a horde alt and an alliance alt on Nesingwary. (I'm Naharnak in Petopians, still have to get Feralclaw in Ominous Latin Name, though.) It's great there so far! I like being around people who like hunters and pets as much as me.

Anzu is awesome. Another mount I haven't tried for due to bad drop luck. I really want Baron's Steed, since I love undead horses, but in vanilla, I think we ran Strat about 100 times trying to get that mount to drop and I didn't ever want to go through that again, so I don't think I've set foot in Strat since then.

Good luck on Loque. I really hope you get him. He's super elusive on my server too. There are people in my channel who think he doesn't exist. I think Loque is on some INSANELY long spawn timer or something. Anyone who can clarify this?

Yes, I have seen this happen A LOT. Where the buff does not break by the second trap and the third is just plain overkill. This is gonna sound horribly easy, and not much of a challenge, but I tamed an unwanted Skitter last night (Yes no one wanted him for like 30 minutes not to mention the last time he spawned in people killed him on purpose) I was actually testing out an unresolved method that some claim does not work, but hey it worked for me somehow. So if you really want the real Skitter and don't mind the ease of this method since it doesn't feel like much of a challenge you can just scare beast. My tame did break once cause he fled out of range, but other than that hitting tame beast did not cause him to eat my face (which I fully expected to happen), and it went though. Some say this method was hotfixed, but if I was able to do it last night, then it probably wasn't. :?

And good luck Feralclaw! (I know I wished you luck before, but I see you just started the camp for reals now :D)

Totally off topic, but any problems with Skitter can be solved via druid buddy. Have them root it. Tame. The end. You don't even have to wait for the buff to drop. He just spins around stupidly waiting for you to tame him. Same goes for Solix, except you DO have to wait for his buff to drop (it drops super fast while rooted).
