They're diseased, but the magic of the Sprite Darters keeps the insanity away, so they can live like they would if they were healthy and be just as happy as they would be if the plague had never come.

... In all seriousness, I completely agree with what Lupis is saying here. Heck, it's essentially what I was trying to say earlier.. Just a lot better said XD
Also, I'm kinda surprised how much feedback I've gotten here! Though I am kinda sad at how many votes there are towards disliking these pets.. Aw well. There's still a lot of people who do like 'em, so I'm fine!
Though I'm really starting to get mad at my Felpaw Wolf.. Howl so I can take a freaking picture of you, wolf! HOWL DAMN YOU!!!!!

Can't stand the idea of a pet of mine that is losing pieces every fight, and not sure why that appeals to anyone, but I don't have a problem with a hunter who has one. Just can't wrap my head around them being liked by anyone.

I've never thought of them as actually losing pieces… xD They seem more "Diseased/scarred" than "Zombie" to me. But then, that's just me.

They're kind of gross and I feel sorry for them. I wouldn't mind getting one in the random pet challenge but I wouldn't tame one otherwise. Well, maybe one of the diseased birds, they look kind of cool.

I definitely know that they're not to everyone's tastes and understand why. I've just never thought of mine as being injured creatures in constant pain though. They're badass zombies. They're undead, they don't feel their wounds.
Then again, I have a love of macabre themes, the Forsaken, and all such related things. I just think they're awesome. I fell in love with the diseased black bear when I first started playing the game and knew I had to have one, likewise with the undead boar. I just adore their appearance. Those two are my favourite. ^^

I voted Don't really have an opinion on them. I mean I never wanted to go get one but I don't hate them :/ For a undead hunter they would match I guess why have a liveing pet for someone whos not?

I've always been fascinated with the diseased pets. I'm not sure why. I guess diseased pets were the most peculiar pets you could tame way back when we had no ghostly pets, gem pets, or anything else that wasn't a normal beast.
I had a diseased wolf named Snitter (cookie to those that get the reference) on an old hunter back in vanilla. You just never would see these guys tamed by anyone and I got asked a lot where I tamed him. Still today I rarely see any diseased pets tamed. I know why. They are ugly and well... diseased, and lots of people don't want a pet that looks like it's in constant pain by their side. I think they look neat, and have been toying with the idea of making another hunter alt with a diseased/corrupted pet stable theme for a while.

Honestly when i see a diseased pet i wanna just say to the hunter, put the damn thing out of its misery, especially bears, with all the open wounds and those giant sores on their backs, with one exeption, the undead vultures, they seem completely undead, with no flesh on them to cause them pain, and they just look freaking cool

My life revoles around zombies, lol. I see "rotting/diseased" and go right to zeds!

I love the lore of the forsaken and the undead starting area is my favorite staring zone by far. The new cata quests are amazing! I just need the characters themselves to be "prettier". It's totally not fair that Sylvanas gets to look so hot and all the other undead look like walking vomit, lol. Fix the hair, fix so much bone showing, spiff them up a little and I'd love 'em! Oh and the way armor looks on them bugs me to end. I lvl'd my main as an undead (warlock) but now I can't lvl an undead past 30 or so because of that. I have an undead priest but I race changed her at lvl 80.

Undead aren't supposed to be pretty.
The models could use a revamp in terms of quality (along with all the vanilla models), but I love how all the Forsaken look. Yes, a dark ranger model would be awesome to play, but I love my undead because they're all rotting and bones showing and hunched over.

The Plague Dogs, by Richard Adams. Sad, sad book...and film, though the book turns out much better in the end. I always felt so bad for him and Rowf.

I think the zombie models seem to have more history. It's easy to imagine that they've suffered through great battles or plagues and were strong enough to survive.
My favorite is Big Samras. Mine is named Morior.

This.^ I love zombie pets and I want more to be available. I don't believe they're in pain, just strong enough to endure the plague and so they have awesome battle scars

Yuck.
Once upon a time I thought it would be cool to go with a "demonic theme" and I'd work in the zombie bear... but when I actually got up close, I was like ehhh... no thx.

Under normal circumstances, I am not one to generally seek out undead/zombified pets as companions.
Only with the introduction of the hunter class as an option for the Forsaken, have I detered from my normal taming tendacies and accepted such pets into my stables. The same could not be said for my other hunters. The pairing of an undead beast with anything other than an undead hunter would seem rather unorthodox. This is my personal opinion of course as I have no qualms with any hunter that may see otherwise.
I've actually grown quite fond of Synestra's zombie bear, Fester. In fact, since the initial tame, he has risen to the ranks of a permanent stable companion. The zombie wolf she had acquired for a brief period however, did not share the same fate. As much as I tried to fall in love with Synestra's Snarl, the connection between her and the wolf failed to materialize.

I have an undead baby hunter and they work with her, but Mindala would lovingly put them out of their misery instead of tame them -- and she'd probably cry a few tears over it, hardened old warrior though she is -- and Anhelia, being a practical gobliny sort, would probably decide they had no advantages over the regular kind so why?

As my hunter is undead, I'm mostly looking for undead looking beasts for her. She's not thinking of keeping them as "maintaining them in harm" and not healing them - she sees them as creatures that suffered like her, a "soulmate" to say. This extends to not only "undead" beasts. The pets she's most associated with (meant as end-game pets, after I'm done with levelling) are Ghamoo-Ra (saved from Twilight's Hammer in Blackfathom Deeps), an undead eagle from the Western Plaguelands, undead bear from Tirisfal (first pet I tamed on her) and a mount Worg from Hellfire Ramparts (supposed to be maltreated by the fel orcs - they're not the nicest people ever). Don't know about other "themed" pets, but "Winnah's Kitten" from Felwood may fit - that green, "slimed" cat that weird slime woman had.
